I bought another PCP air rifle.. the price is $200-$300 range.. anyone guess which gun I bought?

It’s an Umarex Gauntlet .22. I watch YouTube reviews on this gun and it is good. I am sure some of you guys have gauntlet and post Videos..

What do you guys think about gauntlet?
I like Diana stromrider but after adding regulator the gun will cost as much as gauntlet..

The Gauntlet is probably one of the most controversial PCP made. The love / hate relationship can be felt coast to coast.

My first dip into PCP's was the Gauntlet in 177. All you had to do was look at the barrel and the POI would shift dramatically.

Hajimoto started fabricating barrel bands that went around the air cylinder, which in itself did a bit of moving too. They certainly helped but did not cure the shifting completely.

I did some mods of my own by adding a stronger spring to the factory installed spring at the end of the barrel and attaching steel stock to the receiver and coupling it to the shroud to give it more rigidity. That cured the POI shift as long as I respected the set up by not banging the barrel around or lifting the gun from the end of the barrel.

In order to up the anti in the accuracy department, you can JB Bore Paste the H*ll out if the barrel by taking it out of the receiver and working it in a manner that has often been described in this forum. Getting the barrel back in can tear up the "O" rings so extreme caution my be had.

A take down of the trigger and a full polish of the mating parts as well as changing a spring or two will make that trigger a fine single stage unit with a very light and crisp pull. My Gauntlet trigger is a good as any other of my higher end guns.

I have added a Jefferson State hammer kit and upped the regulator pressure to further comply whith the lighter hammer spring provided with this kit.

At 40 yards it is sometimes difficult to separate the groups made by the Gauntlet vs. the Wolverine "R" I own and although the Wolverine is more consistent, the Gauntlet can stand proud.

The Gauntlet is a tinker's dream and if you are willing to throw in a few extra bucks and do some fun work, it can wind up being as good as many others, but it do need some TLC.

I ordered yesterday from PA. I thought the gun was shipped from Ohio.. I think it is actually shipped from Utah distributor.

So I am getting it today.. I can’t shoot until I get my hand pump and 1/8 connector..

I've never had one but no doubt that's a really good choice, I'm sure you'll enjoy the pre ordered Nova Freedom when you get it too, they're the cat's meow in my opinion

If it's got some air in it you can, if it doesn't I'd wait til you got it charged up first. If you also ordered the Nova Freedom in .22 the cool thing is you can use the mags on both them guns. Buds Gun Shop has a really good deal on the .22 Gauntlet mags, less than $7 ea.

Love the accuracy of my Gauntlet! Clean the barrel before you shoot it. Watch Hajimoto’s uTube videos. You’ll learn much. Even in stock form, given the right conditions, that rifle is good for plinking out to 100 yards. Handle the barrel carefully though due to POI shift. Last summer I dispatched 19 invading groundhogs, 17 were with my Gauntlet. Mine likes JSB15’s best but will shoot others okay also. Best wishes!

I got my Umarex Gauntlet.22. The rifle is not heavy at all.. the psi gauge on the rifle is at 0. Is it normal??

I've never bought a bottled gun personally so it's possible something like the Gauntlet wouldn't have air in it when they shipped it.
