New piston & seal trail xl 1100

Well I got the new piston and seals for my XL 1100 today.Gonna be doing the tune myself.Does anybody know of a video of that disasembly? All help is greatly appreciated.

I think you'll find this does not apply to the NPXL.  From what I've read a spring compressor is not required for that rifle.  The rear cap unscrews and as it moves out it removes the spring preload.  Caution - I could be mistaken.  I'm just saying the XL series does not come apart quite the same way as the NP or NP2 series.

The XL doesn’t need a compressor. When I had one I had it apart a couple of times. There’s no pressure on the gas ram when the end cap is removed.

Yes I know the rear cap is threaded and cation need be taken when putting piston with new seal in this area.Thought Id make a sleeve out of 2 litre bottle or beer can.Ive did a tune on a gamo hornet and a b-3.Both spring guns.Just like to be extra careful when my girlfriends well being is at stake.My gun is made in. Oct. 2010 so Im sure its overdue for some tlc.Piston got to be tired too.Anyway thanks for your advice and Ill keep you informed to my progress and if I need some help know you'll be relied on for it.Have a great evening.

I used a beer can when I did mine. You’ll want to find one as thin as possible. It’s a tight fit past those threads. I used some silicone grease on the can to help get the new seal past the threads.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind.Im not gonna as much as chaf my new seal.Im so ready to get the new guts in her that Im imagining the range of a 50 cal berret,kill force of a patriot missle and accuracy of a smart bomb!!! Yea right,all from a new piston 2 new seals and some cleaning and lubing..Tell me Im not a optimist,my glass is way over halfull its topped off.Ok so Ive got high asperations of my tune.Better positive than negitive.
