My Beeman Quite Tek Series .177 cal (Chinese) initial review.

 I bought a Beeman Quite Tek Series  .177 cal rifle off Amazon after seeing a post by Mikeyb that the price bot had dropped the price. I debated if I should jump on this so I just put it in my cart at $69 and was going to decide later if I wanted it or not. A little while later l hit the order button and it popped up at only $62.33. Wow but I still questioned if it was worth even that much. I enjoy a challenge and I thought to myself,  if Beeman is going to put their name on this Chinese lower end air rifle it must be at least worth $63. It arrived today.

My initial impression was regret. Not a very impressive looking rifle, it has that ugly composite stock (everyone should know by now I'm not a big fan of plastic stocks).
But let's not jump to conclusions yet I thought.
I cleaned the barrel with Ballistol, running a million patches through.  Then I fired a dozen pellets through to clear the oil, it dieseled for a good 8 or 9 pellets.

I put the Beeman 4x32 scope on it and was impressed with it, not bad at all, the mounts were junk so I dug a better pair out of my stash. I fired 3 pellets at 10 yards turned windage turret 8 clicks to the left. (I usually shoot a tin of the cheapest pellets I can find to break in the barrel.) I had purchased a tin of 500 Beeman pointed pellets for $4.99 and that is what I intend to do. I usually also don't really check for accuracy until I feel the barrel is broken in, but the group was so tight at the scope sight in that I just decided to see how it would group even using these crappy pellets.

I have a Quiet Tek dual caliber. It has the wood stock. I call it the blunder buss! It's not a pretty rifle by any means. I have only used it in 22 caliber so far. It loves jsb 15.89gr pellets. It's so accurate Dan that I can pick off little letters on the targets I use. I actually mounted some rails on the side and use a stoeger 2 piece bipod. I don't shoot it much anymore since I dove into the darkside and down the rabbit hole. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine.

I had heard that the trigger was not that great but on the 35 or so pellets that I fired thus far, I'm really impressed with this trigger. I have some 1" spinners that I placed at 10 yards and I fired 5 pellets off handed without a rest...hit all five. It's too good to be true. And this,  with THESE cheap pellets? What will it do with some decent pellets?

Thanks Chris for the encouragement.  I enjoy buying rifles under $75 and tweaking to try to bring out the accuracy and consistency that the higher priced guns possess.
This little rifle may turn out to be an excellent shooter.

This one has an adjustable trigger as well, I haven't adjusted it yet first because I like how it feels now and second I like to shoot it a while to get a feel for the trigger then when I do make adjustments I can notice the difference.

If I get a chance tomorrow,  I might just for giggles try some good pellets just to see if accuracy is better than those cheap ones, but afterwards I still want to shoot a few hundred pellets to break in the barrel and see if the trigger will smooth out any before I adjust it if necessary. The instructions that came with it said it may take a tin or two of pellets  until it is "broken-in".

Glad it's a good shooter so far. I've been watching a few of these over the last year and have been tempted to buy one several times. Decided not to every time because a reduced price on another brand rifle popped up and took its place.

I have a refurb Beeman Silver Kodiak dual barrel (.177 & .22) which shoots well but needs some serious trigger tuning. The Kodiak is nice rifle that really deserves a better trigger from the factory. The one I have has that "mystery" trigger with one limited adjustment and will need a complete trigger teardown to determine if it can be improved.

Even though I've only shot less than 50 pellets through this rifle I decided to see if I could narrow down a favorite pellet.  I shot 10 shots at 15 yards using 11 different pellets. The overall favorite was Hatsan's Vortex Supreme. 
I zeroed the rifle at 15 yards using that pellet as a standard,  then I moved the target stand out to 20 yards. I was amazed to see the accuracy in this inexpensive air rifle. Below you will see some of the results of my pellet comparisons from this morning along with the amazing group at 20 yards.

Your welcome Dan, with the 15.89 gr JSB's I can literally pick out the little writing on the targets and wipe out the letters! I like to shoot the letters with somewhat of an o shape. Micro target lol. And mine is shooting 17 fpe. I was shocked when I ran the numbers.

The Beeman .177 coated W/C's and h/p's shoot good in some of my guns.

Well, I swapped the scope on this rifle. It had more potential than that fixed power 4 x 32 Beeman could offer. I mounted a new Hammers 3-9x32AO mil-dot on it today.  After sighting it in at 20 yards, just for fun I started shooting at my aluminum skillet I have hanging at the tree line behind my house. I set up in the center of my patio and it's 60 yards to the skillet.  I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
