Wow! Just Wow! Crosman Fire/F4 (retired)

Well, I finally got around to testing my retired Fire/F4 with my new "muzzle velocity meter" and the results explain a lot of why I could not hit anything with it.

The FPS was around 100+/- with 10.5 grain pellets and the BEST speed I got was about 200 FPS with 7.4 grains.

I checked the chrono again with my Nova Freedom and all is well.  So... I am so glad I retired this POS and so glad I bought this cheap Chinese "muzzle velocity meter".

I still don't know why the Fire/F4 is SOOOOOO slow compared to what it should be, but I don't care at this point.  It only cost me $69 new and has been PERMANENTLY retired.

I don't even feel like it is worth the trouble to see what is wrong with it as I doubt I will ever shoot it again.

Your Nitro piston is bad. About $11 plus shipping from Crosman and add a new piston seal just because you would have been inside but since you're retiring it, no biggie sounds like.

Thanks Steve, but as I said, I will never shoot this gun again.  Never was able to shoot it consistently when it DID have ample FPS because of the jumpiness and terrible "Crosman" trigger and don't see any use in putting any money into it now that I have the Nova Freedom.

Although, I may venture into a true springer before I die, gas pistons are dead for me.   Maybe if it had a decent trigger to start with... but I digress. (grin)

Crosman is STILL putting this crappy trigger in their guns... evidenced by the Fortitude and the Fortitude G2. (heavy sigh)
