It has nothing to do with my browser cache. I get a "pop-up" that only has a selection for the "gate".

I think it may have to do with "ad blockers". But it may also have something to do with NoScript.

In any case, I won't bother trying the chat feature any more. As far as I am concerned, it is broken for me.

I do run several extensions/addons in Firefox, but if I have to turn them off for chat, then chat is gone. No big loss...

Basically, for most... it doesn't work. No big thing... I never used it much anyway. However, the admins should take note that it does not work for MANY/most GTA members/users.

I always ran ad blockers, and I never had a problem with the chat. No offense, but you making a deal that you don't care, or no big loss. But I haven't seen you in chat. Most here are on daily.

Guess if Chat is broken maybe some of us could just run mIRC and make a GTA group.

Well, we paid for a chat application and paid to have it installed. It works for me. I don't like it but it works.
VERY frustrating but I'll keep at it. I'll see what alternatives there are.

I don't have Windows but I've got Linux Mint 17.3 and Mint 18.2 and it won't work on either. I use Firefox for a browser, maybe I'll try google chrome and see if it works with that

Sorry all, I looked in permissions. Chat was allowed for everyone. But Shoutbox was denied. That is because we used an actual chat app and are now using shoutbox. Try it now everyone.
It SHOULD work.

I tried with FF and turning off add blocker, Nadda... Tried with Edge, Nadda. Tried both browsers on my Phone including Chrome. Nadda. It dun gone broke.

Still not working last I knew it was being kept off due to security reasons. I see that has yet to be resolved.

Still not working for me either Dave.... I have Win7 and FF. I cleared my cache again just this morning.
I also am one that rarely, if ever, use chat but as you said.. it's part of our forum experience and many do use it.

I was contacted about chat not working. At first I thought it might be blocking popups but then when I ran as a guest account I could see chat box but not shoutbox. Turns out that your various groups were not given permission to view by Admin. There are portal shoutboxes and then this shoutbox which has its own permission level that was not set. Now, this should be verified by Admin because deciding who can do what in a chat is really Admins decision. I set it up how I think it should be done but there are many groups at GTA so that needs to be addressed. Ok folks... you (at least regular members and global moderator) should be able to access the chat now. I have also put the chat button back to loading as a box since that was not the issue in the first place. If you have popup blockers on your browser make sure they do not do that for this domain. Who can give me an 'Amen" to this working now?
