Some one logged in with a username of looking_something or other then the icon turned red said something i don't recall chat lagged I logged out and cannot log back in.

I've popped in and out of chat once or twice but never participated.

I just now clicked on "chat" and it gave me the GTA Home page inside a smaller window.

That is what I am getting also when I click on chat, thanks for confirming that it isn't just me.

I was in there talking with Geoff the other day and there were problems with it then too plus you couldn't see if anyone was in chat before you logged in, I basically logged in to see who had recently visited and Geoff was already there and brought to my attention other things going on that weren't right there, I just tried it and you can't even get in there right now, I'm sure it'll be fixed eventually though.

Blueimp chat is a very buggy chat app. When it’s given me fits, the fix was to reinstall. After a while of dealing with this nonsense and it slamming the database, I removed it from the AirGunGuild.

The developer came in and the issues still are not fixed so chat will be down until the issues are fixed.

Because we had to uninstall and reinstall a newer version of chat, everyone needs to clear their web browser cache. Even if you SEE tabs in chat like Kick or Ban, if you try to use them you will be told you are not allowed to access that function. LOL

Yep, too many security holes in the app. Shut down for now. Will have to purchase a new app and have the programmer install it. More money....

There aren’t a lot of choices for SMF. The ones that are available are super buggy. An option might be to install a cloud based chat app, and skip trying to host it yourself. These chat apps are intensely resource consuming. Keeping it off your server is probably the best bet.

Yep, sure. Chat was a very old version and not compatible with the new version of SMF. Everything needs upgrades from time to time.

Personally I"m really glad it's getting fixed myself, it's been a long time since I've had audio in there with Mint17.3, I've since install Mint 18 also and that had audio at first but the first time I did an update on Firefox for it the audio on that OS also disappeared as well, I tried everything to get it back with no luck.

I always had audio, with Win 10, Firefox and IE. I just chose to turn it off.

Chat on the GTA site is still not working.

I don't really care, but I just thought I would make note of it and given the title of this thread, it seemed to be the appropriate place to say something.

I did see on some thread that I can't seem to find, where an admin said it WAS working. Nope.
