Sorry, a bit off topic. The $30 TGTBT ~~MIG~~ Welder should be called a "flux core AC wire welder" as it has NO bottle gas shielding function. A little less than half the sale price of the HF flux welder is a stretch, but I am curious to see how this welder scam plays out compared to compressor scam in this thread.

I actually have a good 220V (real) MIG welder. Works like a dream, but it is too HEAVY to be a useful portable welder. Also have a cheap Stick/TIG(DC) machine with Plasma cutter function. The Stick/TIG/PlasmaCutter combo machine was a TGTBT ebay buy at ~$220. Surprisingly, it does everything it claims VERY WELL and has been my go-to welder & plasma cutter for over 4 years.

I do have the cheap HF flux welder and it works... kind-of. The AC arc (yes, it really IS an AC arc as sold by HF) makes a low penetration weld with tons of weld splatter. I added big honkin' (that's a technical term:-) diodes, heat sinks, and a second fan to make it a DC flux welder. MUCH easier to use, better (deeper) weld penetration, and far less weld splatter. Still a toy to any serious welding expert, but I'm just a hobby welder so it's a decent portable flux welder for my needs.

The HF Omnipro multi-function welder looks nice and seems well priced for what is does. I'd consider it if it welded aluminum also, but it's not rated for aluminum welding (needs AC MIG/TIG function and a spool-gun). So far I've only spent about half the Omnipro cost for my welding hobby and don't need to go any further... until the day I really need to weld aluminum (ouch!).

FYI... plasma cutting and precision TIG welding small (to tiny) steel parts has been quite useful for my airgun ~~hobby~~ addiction!

I have an HF flux wire/ gas mig welder. Bought it from a co-worker that bought it and soon upgraded to a larger one. I paid $100 for it with the gas gauges and a speed glass helmet. The gauges and helmet had never been out of the packages.
It's good for small welding needs. Wouldn't try to weld much more than 1/8" with it.

Called Ebay yesterday, refund showed today. Ordered YH from Amazon yesterday(NOT Prime), received notice from UPS this morning, it will be delivered tomorrow.

Both the $57 refund and the $15 refund from the vevor compressor are in my paypal account. I complained about the burst disks letting go before the pressure made it ot 4500 psi. Kept at it until he gave me the refund.

Got mine yesterday too. No harm done just dead money for a few days. If I hadn't went for it and it panned out I woulda been crying. That was cheaper than the top end kit. Oh well win some lose some. cave

It's really good to read many are getting their refunds! Good ole eBay, my primary shopping grounds for many years now. I do comparison shop other sites, but usually eBay is the lowest, but not always.

Finally got my refund.

I am a little disappointed it took this long as I believe I may have been the first, or at least one of the first people to report this as a probable scam, and when I talked to ebay I was told it would be investigated and if it was determined to be a scam I would be refunded immediately, that did not happen.

For some reason many people were issued their refunds before me, not really a big deal as I did get my refund, just don't understand why mine took longer than most.

Bill, it arrived at 3:00 this afternoon in perfect shape. I am running to get batteries for the display. One thing I have already done is to swap ends between the filter and foster connector. It makes it easier to attach to the gun.

Sorry for any confusion. After I received my Ebay refund, I ordered this one from Amazon.

Filled her with O'Reilly 30wt compressor oil. Filled a 5 gallon bucket with water. Hooked up the pump. Opened the bleeders and let her rip. Run time - twenty minutes. Then the real test. Filled my Maximus from 0-2000 in 40 seconds. Filled my Fortitude from 2000 - 3000 in about 30 seconds. Temp did not get above 50 C for either. Oh, yeah, Ambient temp is 90F.!! This is not nearly as loud as I have heard. For those interested, Amazon has a two-pack of the F temperature gages for $3.49 with free shipping!!

If you look at the tracking, it will tell you WHERE it was delivered. Probably not even in the state you live in. My "whatever it is" was delivered to Connecticut and I live in Alabama.

I am done with this. I got my refund and unless the authorities come asking me to help, I have nothing else to say.

Lesson learned.

Thanks Ken.. I ordered the f temp gauges. I already have one on my Vevor compressor. One of these will go on my MKII. These 2 were cheaper than what I paid for the one on my Vevor. Might want to post this in the Bargain Gate.
