My condolences Robert.  I empathize with you.  Our Flytrap is getting a little slower each day.

I did shoot an airgun today but I've spent far more time cleaning the kitchen and prepping the harvest for canning, drying, blanching, and cooking.  We are up to our ears in tomatoes, bell peppers, and peas right now.

Thanks guys. We've had to put down 4 dogs in the last 3 years and it doesn't get any easier but like a person on a MC forum I use to Frequent it's what we sign up for every 10 to 17 years. He was in heart failure and the only reason he made it the last month was because of some heart meds. In a small way it's almost a relief that he's gone. For the last week or so he has been a lot of work between puking and diarrhea and trying to get him to eat.

Yesterday, I mowed my lawn before it got too hot.  In the evening, my Judy and I watched the first L S U v Florida College World Series game.  That game set the stage for the second game today.  Yes, my Judy loves those L S U Tigers.  (That is where our son and many paycheck went in the early/mid 90s.)

We had a trip scheduled to Mt St Helens.  Road closed for snow so that was postponed until a late date.  Ended up going to Rattlesnake Lake.  I had reservations about going since it's an easy drive for city slickers to get to and feel like they are away.  Just getting there was a chore and a test of my patience.  Maps said an hour to get there.  2.5 hrs later we began the search to try and find any sort of parking. The place was so jam packed.  Cars lined out on the road and parked far into the "no park" zone along the road into the area.  Found a spot.  Tons of people.  Great to see so many out and about but certainly not the place to "get away". Still it was a great hike and the view is spectacular.  Finished the day out and worked our way home in the mess (1 hour trip in 2 hours).  Never again on the weekend.  Made it home, ate sandwiches and played until almost 11pm with family and guests.  A great day even with the challenges.

Betty Lou actually got up with the dogs before I did. Then she came back to bed and I got about an hour later and made the coffee.
I couldn't stand the grass so tall another minute and went out at around 7:00 am and fired thee mower up. I mowed the whole place including the acre the bar/mancave sits on. I understand that the guy that bought it just bought another 600 acres of prime hunting ground 30 or so minutes north of us and is clearing trails. I haven't seen him since that first day he and the sheriff showed up with the bad news.
While I was mowing Betty Lou was packing stuff up in the bar and staging it near the door. When I finished mowing I loaded the truck. The truck has a cap on it and I'm not crawling in and out so we're just loading as far as we can reach into the back with the tailgate down. We figured we have 2 or 3 more small loads then we're done with it.
After that we will have the task of sorting, unpacking and organizing the screen room, utility room and both sheds. There is currently nothing on the walls in the spare room and we plan to put 3 gun racks in there. That should take care of 12 guns from the bar. Betty Lou wants 3 or 4 or the vintage Daisys (RR style) along with a Daisy sign in her kitchen.
