Hoosier Momma has had to work 12 hr days since we got back, so it's the least I could do since I don't return to work until tomorrow.

After today, workcation starts, it will be 3 weeks of yard destruction. I hate cleaning up after messy boys.

I wish I could have shot a couple of my springers or my new 1377 but Friday, while working late I developed a sore throat,  cough and bad headache.  Saturday I woke up feeling the the same or worse. Nyquil & Dayquil have helped.  Today better just feel like crud. So I decided to read so post on GTA, nap and watch LONGMIRE on Netflix.

I watched a couple more episodes of The Expanse on Prime (Yeah for Amazon buying that show!) this morning then SWMBO and I cleaned our cars.  I traded my 2018 Forester (that was SWMBO's before she bought her Kona) for my father in law's 2012 Volvo XC-60.  Ordered some CV axles since I hear a tick-tick doing slow turns.  Might seem like a bad deal but HAH down to one car payment so it's a win.

Did some writing (short-story stuff), laundry, yard-clean-up, grocery-gittin' in my now-clean Volvo (which is altogether too darn fast), and generally been a bum.

Otherwise, running Windows updates on a couple computers, installing Zorin (Linux) on a spare PC to see if SWMBO likes it, and just got done reading an article about installing Windows 10 on a OnePlus 6T phone (what I personally have).  Oh, and invented a new tequila-based cocktail- fine-tuning it for flavor.  factually, been pretty productive today

Given my thirst for adventure and being accident prone, I leave the cell phone in the truck..    Other non water resistant items are safely stored in the box on Betty Lou's wheeler which is powered with better sense.

I spent Veteran's Day working. 

I contemplated shooting my 95QE after work, but ended up cleaning up doggie landmines.  Also measured linear distance to a newly established squirrel nest altogether too close to my eave.

Waiting for the baking powder/spice rub to set for about an hour before I bake them.   Makes for a great REALLY CRISPY skin!

I only recently started using baking powder for baking them.   There are several "recipes" online that talk about using baking powder (not baking soda) for the crisp skin.

Any of them should work well for crispy skin in the oven.   Since I no longer have a grill, all I looked for was recipes on baking them in the oven.

The cold snap certainly makes "landmine removal" easier... except where our Boston Terrier goes in the gravel 
  Small dogs eat less and make smaller poops, for sure.  I have a buddy with 2 greyhound rescue dogs, a weimeraner , and a Staffordshire terrier (that thinks it's a lapcat/greyhound mix).  His backyard can be terrifying if he misses a couple days.


I did nothing airgun related yesterday; I did wrap up The Expanse on Amazon Prime- no doubt in my mind it is the best Science Fiction series ever produced.

Perused Jalopnik and a few other blogs per usual.  Oh, and I know a lot of you could care less, but for me and SWMBO- we're excited about news from Hyundai: it appears the new Hyundai pickup will be made in Bill's backyard.  380 databases don't lie: Hyundai is building some darn good vehicles.

I'll be looking forward to see how it stacks up.  Certainly fills a niche of a true utility vehicle.  I don't need another full pick-up, but I do cart around bags of concrete, fencing, lumber and such periodically.  Hyundai has been at the head of the auto-design pack for a few years, so I'm wondering if this will be a niche vehicle like the El Camino/Ranchero, Subaru Brat and Baja (and Rabbit pick-up) were- or if this is going to pick up a lot of momentum.

One tree down, more to come. The wind is making it a little tough to get full extension on the boom lift. So work will be done on the broke over stuff this morning until the cold front comes through. It's been a while running one just have to get use to the swingin' of it again. This machine is not for faint hearted, if you get sea sick or afraid of heights don't get on. The one I am operating at full extension is 70ft. I do have the harness and ppe on.
