After work I got out of the truck and onto the mower. Finished up in about 1 1/2 hours. Next time I will change directions and mow east to west.Betty Lou tinkered with hanging twinkle lights around the shooting deck and swatted bore bees. Then we just hung out and admired our progress.Today I will take the afternoon off work so we can go get Betty Lou's new ID cards and shopping done. I also need to get the truck tags renewed. The plan for the weekend is veggie garden and shooting range. Might even get a little shooting in.
Transplanted veggies and apple trees while reading a SITREP update. The NIFC reports we are sitting at a Level 2. With suggestions the Northeast should be on alert this upcoming months. Ya so apple trees. Anyone ever plant them from scratch or clippings? I got some local apples last year and stuck the seeds in the bucket around New Years. They are about as thick as a pencil and two foot tall. No clue if they will produce apples or not but its fun to try.
Well; did do some shooting today-but mostly spent the day working-weed eated around the garden fence (modded the weedeater with a special guard so it doesn't tear the fence or the line up); and mowed the yard; which involved blowing as much clippings into piles as possible so we could rake them up for mulch in the garden.Jesse
Tractor parts are in, after work get that started so I can get the garden spots all tilled up to plant in and get the fence lines opened back up.
Can you take a pic of that to show us here or describe how you did it? The crew I previously used wacked the paint off the wood wall of my store room when cutting weeds so I fired them and do it myself ever since. I just cut the weeds near idle speed so the line doesn't take any paint off the wall but I for one would like to see your custom shield regardless.
Stop by here and pick my stuff up too, ok?
Good for you, Scott! I’m a hoarder, and my place is out of control too. Mostly HVAC stuff. We have plenty of technicians that live in apartments or such they don’t keep anything that’s not in their van. I have loads & loads of scrap and boxes & boxes of parts. It’s time for it all to go, actually I’ve been working on it, but it’s slow going when I still have to go to work too. I have to have a window of time and enough energy from time to time to work on it.

I work on an apple orchard, there are a few wild trees that have escaped cultivation, in drainage ditches etc. they do produce tasty fruit. Not too hard to grow ones own root stock and graft the varieties that one wants. Who knows you may find a new variety of apple from the seedlings, and want to graft more trees in 10 or so years
