Swopping out the Baja designs wiring harness and lights for the tusk kit. The Baja designs kit has been on it since 1992 and was having problems. Figure I've got maybe 10 years left to ride a street legal dirt bike and the new kit should last that long.🥺🧐

I put one of their wiring kits on my last XR 500.  It held up pretty well for a couple of years but I sold the bike and I don’t know how it fared afterwards.  Good luck with yours.  I know a street legal XR 500 was a blast.

I bought nice low-miles Nissan Titan and Honda Odyssey at the start of the pandemic. 

I've now sold both to Carvana at a crazy profit; the Titan went away last night.  Last month, the Odyssey made us enough to buy an older Honda Element and CRV and still come out ahead- both AWD unlike the Odyssey.  So now I start the process of buying a manual inline straight-six F-150.  Already found several within a hundred miles that meet needs for a good tow-mule that I don't mind beating up.  Makes me happy the bro-dozer mall-cruiser neon-light-wheelwell 24-inch wheels with 35-series "mudder" tires haven't discovered these workhorse trucks- but gut feeling tells those types of drivers don't know how to drive stick-shifts, cuz driving around shopping centers with a dozen streetlights every quarter mile would prevent the cell-phone-talking-and-driving-despite-having-bluetooth folks from using a clutch and shifter.


If somebody told me I'd be able to put a combined 40,000-ish miles on 2 vehicles and then sell them 18-24 months later at a major profit, I'd have laughed in their face.  Now I'm sitting here in partial shock laughing over the APPRECIATION, not DEPRECIATION, in value of a pair of lower-mileage automobiles that- as a result of the sales- leave me totally debt free.

Hauled gravel from the creek to fill the muddy spots in the walkways out back; hung a gate off of the garden shed in preparation for the new expanded fence that will be put in later; rebuilt the rock retaining/guard walls on the creek banks to keep the next flood stage from eroding away the banks under the bridge-and planted onions in starter pots.
And otherwise enjoyed being outside in my shirtsleeves, in the sunshine 
Funny how warm 60-degrees feels; coming off of colder weather...
Still have ice and snow all over the yard; was a little jealous driving up the road yesterday and seeing that most of the neighbor's yards are clear... 
It's nice to see the ground again! (Despite the mud...)

I cultivated six more garden beds in preparation for planting.  We harvested the last of the savoy cabbage and broccoli and started a variety of seeds germinating.  Our spring garden is off to a good start.

Daughter #3 called me a 08:20 and announced she was eloping at 17:00 today 2/22/22!
 They are in Tallahassee FL. and did it all legal  with a minister on line with a live meeting app.
 New S.I.L is awesome. He is a good man.
Great work ethic, Family oriented, and Spiritual plus an outdoors man.
All I could ever hope for to care for my daughter!

I gave an hour long interpretative program on “Primitive Cooking”.  Any cooking I do is pretty primitive.
Anyhoo. . .  I baked Bannock on a stick over a fire, smoked fish, cooked corn pone on a hot rock, and boiled water in a hollow log.  Then I drove a jungle tour boat and still got off early!  Pretty good day for a perk ranger.

Tried out some .40 S&W ammo that I had loaded. After checking the velocity, I loaded 10 more increasing HS-6 powder from 6.6 to 6.9 grains. I'll check those out tomorrow. Also gonna shoot my HW50-.22 tomorrow at some shillottes.

Got the shell adapter installed that's featured in this clip below to shoot 9 shells in my shotgun now instead of 5. Tested it and I don't believe it likes that brand/size since it would jam after 3 or 4 shells so I'll try another shell brand that has tested better.

Then got a sd card off a trailcam since it had a pic of a young bobcat in one of my trails this morning, then combined it with a pic of me there later for size comparison. Good looking well fed critter it is.

This weekend Sonja and I got the house to ourselves.  The boys went to visit a close friend in Long Island, so we've enjoyed the peace-and-quiet.  LOTS of yard work accomplished; Sonja loves her new EGO battery-powered polesaw.  I gave her some pointers on wielding a narrow-kerf chainsaw at the end of a "stick" and she took to it like a fish in water.  Once she was on a roll, I just moved the heavy stuff, then I shifted over to "work on the truck" mode.  Chased some electrical issues down, ordered some replacement parts, then we started a new batch of enhanced shortbread (hundreds of years old family recipe from the Scottish Lowlands).  We were going to play disc golf yesterday but the day never warmed up, so Sonja assisted me on the CR-V.  New double-din touchscreen stereo, fixed some miscellaneous broke items, and then tackled some very stubborn hardware and a faulty main ground on it.  Found a broken motor-mount, so put that on the list of things to fix.  We also dropped the truck off to start the VA inspection process.  It needs tires, a tune-up, and a few other items.  I know it has an annoying and commonplace Ford truck ABS issue, something is going on the front gas tank, and there's likely other things going on.  TBH, our free time has been really limited lately with all the house-work going on, so I don't mind paying somebody with a lift- not a gravel drive- to work on it.
