The steering wheel vibrated every time I got close to the yellow line. I suppose I could have turned that off but it was better than a company car I drove that beeped at you.
The blue tooth sensed my phone and asked if I wanted to connect to it. That gave me full control of my phone and navigation system in my phone through my Google maps app.
So today after the store run I went and had tires and brakes put on the Titan. My buddy at the tire shop had a set of 4 matching truck tires from a guy that upgraded to swamp tires. They had at least 75% tread. I got them balanced and mounted for $260. Then he put new front brakes on for $60. He did all cash under the table. I got lifetime warranty on the pads at Autozone for $50. The manager , "Cristy" told me to put the receipt in the box with the old pads and just bring them in for new brakes when I wanted  them.
It's good to know people.

The Honda CRV lane assist does a good job of steering for you for small time periods and then a warning light that says steering input is required flashes on the dash, but if you steer or drift too close to the edge of a lane without a turn signal being on it will shake the wheel. It is easy for me to avoid the wheel shake.

Our yota tundra has the lane sensor that beeps. I keep thinking of turning it on to drive the wife crazier 😁.  I do love the adaptive cruise control though. I use it every time I'm driving on SR89 traveling to and from Prescott. SR89 is 1 lane and hilly so it's hard to pass and inverably I get stuck behind a dead foot.

I loved the auto headlights with the auto dimmers. The side mirror warning lights with beep was good too. No more blind spots. If you turned on the blinker it let you know if it was all clear. One time traffic stopped quickly in front of me. I was on the break but I felt the car take over the braking and the warning beeper came on. Betty Lou kinda freaked out but I was already on it.
It showed me how many miles I had left in the fuel tank and every time I shut that car off it showed the fuel efficiency for that run and the 5 previous runs along with average since the last fill up. The 1300 mile trip cost us about $95 in fuel.
It was alot to get used to not to mention every thing the audio/video system did. Betty Lou managed that part.
I saw it all as stuff that could break down and need repaired. And I am absolutely positive Hertz even knew if we passed gas in the car.
My BIL is eat up with conspiracy theories and swore that Hertz knew and sold all of our habits and information. He thinks there are people listening through the TV, phone and all other electronics even when they are turned off.

Yep, there's lots of people with nothing better to do than stalk old guys through their electronics.   If I was going to stalk someone, you can be darn shure it won't be an old man.

Lots of old men have nothing to spend their money on and they make great targets for advertisers and scammers.
Just think if you owned a roofing manufacturing business, for instance, and you had an inside line to anyone that had a conversation about needing a new roof and you had the means to reach them. And yes, there were ads that came up on the screen in that car. The GPS ratted me out and we were informed of eating, shopping, and attractions along the way. Google maps makes good money on it.

"Lots of old men have nothing to spend their money on and they make great targets for advertisers and scammers."  Well I guess we're sort of in that category.   And when driving, we do spend a fair amount of time talking about where we're going to eat next.   It wont be long before AI makes that info available to not only big restaurant chains but to every little mom and pop shop which is the kind of place we prefer.  Soon the CCP and PLA will have full access to everything ever stored electronically.

The new ford bronco is that way annoying as all get out. Everytime I pass one by I feel relief not having to drive it. I love driving my car without all the nanny state intrusions and limitations.
