I did some cooking. Started with run of the mill kebabs and lule kebabs (that's the ground meat suff), then my better half asked if I can make fajitas...so I did that too. Baked a few pumpkin spice scones and about that time I realized I was running out of vape juice.
 Once everyone was fed and dishes were done, I mixed 200 ml of my two favorite vape juices.

Trying to get factual details on a proposed project in the area that could have big negative impacts on residents. Actually, there are several different such proposals being wafted around.

Weather has been too volatile for shooting, but it is supposed to improve this week. It's also the start of spring water-based recreation season, so I am curtailing screen time in favor of live action.

Trying to work from home and take care of some administrative details I inadvertently locked myself out of my HR account and my work email account.  Now I'll have to go into the office and straighten that out.  Then I spent an hour chasing my tail trying to get my insurance provider to give me the name of an Optometrist that takes my insurance.  Finally the provider told me that they could see me in August.  Funny.  The fellow at the Walmart Eye Center can see me tomorrow.  Anyone smell a scam?  So after three hours of work I have accomplished exactly nothing.

Not much... made a trip to the PO and went to the local chicken joint for a late lunch.
We come home and actually took a real nap in the bed instead of the recliner.
When I got up I went out and cleaned up one workbench but it's such a dreary day I just came back in.
Now I'm having a motivational cup of coffee. It don't appear to be working.

Took my peeps to coffee, ran to the nursery, 2 farm and feed supply places, painted baseboards getting ready for install, packaged some items, took it to the UPS drop off, hit the ‘Bucks with Mrs P for a refresher, Chick Fil A for a snack and went to Lowes.  Home now.  Applied a 2nd coat of paint to the baseboards, drank cold coffee that I had left outside previously, snacked on salted peanuts and now of surfing waiting for paint to dry.  It’s a cold and wet spring day out.  Feels colder than the thermometer says.  The dark clouds are gathering as my mind grows more aware of the weekend coming to an end and my work week beginning.

Mostly just sat in front of my computer coughing. I am coughing up a lot of gunk so at least that is productive.

My abs and neck muscles are sore from over a week of coughing now. I do think I have started getting better, it is hard to tell when the coughing fits come and go. My lungs still seem clear just the bronchial tubes seem affected by this bug.

I decided to go out and see if my Chipper Shredder would run without working on it. First, the gas tank was empty    and I put some gas in it. Second, I used starting fluid to start it and it would only run on starting fluid for about the first 45 seconds and then it came to life on the gasoline in the tank. I thought the pulsa jet carb would need a rebuild but it runs pretty well now. 

 It has probably been 5 years since I last ran it and I am glad I drained the fuel. I shut it off after it ran on it's own for about a minute and it restarted with just one/half pull.

I just swallowed my pride and asked my optometrist to get me a Rx for progressives that will work for mid-range.....40 years later I might be abandoning contacts.  Yet to be seen how "eye relief" will work out for extremely near sighted neanderthal.....keeping a box of contacts for emergency hunting if the specs don't work out....

Drove down to NYC for lunch with one of the kids.   Haven’t seen him since last year and he ha d a class in New York so I figured I’d drop in.  Ate at a great Chinese restaurant in queens.  The largest Chinatown in the world outside of china is the one in queens.  Very interesting neighborhood.  4 hours driving to NYC, 4 hours hanging out and eating,  4 hours driving home

Just finished installing sharp chains on the 2 chainsaws my step grandson is using to cut down a bunch of dead trees in the fenced part of the yard.

Took a Personal Day off work and went with Hoosier Momma to her "Reconstruction Surgeon" appointment.
She is making good progress and starting to walk slowly with a cane instead of a crutch.
 He was very happy with her progress and reassuring... then dropped the bomb.
 Surgery #7 will be next month and scheduling it now. "Lipoectomy" (sp) on her foot that is to remove the excess fatty tissue from the transplant from her thigh.
Then another 6-8 weeks of no weight baring and then slow rehab.... again.  .
...This all started on Sep 2, 2024.
To say she is "upset" is an understatement.

You win some, you lose some.  I had to interrupt my convalescence today and go into the office.  I made a mess of my work computer connection and had to go in and straighten it out.  I battled mightily against the forces of IT and triumphed!   They fear me at the help desk!

But I was less successful against the minions of HR.  I was patient and resourceful but the hordes of nerds and paper pushers wore me down.  There’s just too many of them!  I retreated back to the shanty to try another avenue.

Yesterday we made the long drive into the capitol.  We had made an appointment at an optometrist to have our yearly eye exam.  Modern customer service based businesses are so Eff’d up up America these days!  The “One Day” glasses place didn’t have an optometrist in the office and wanted three weeks to make a cheap pair of spectacles.

We found another optometrist and got it taken care of in about an hour.

While we were in town the nursing home called and said that my SF was being transported to the hospital for cardiac issues.  So we had to support mom while he was being evaluated.  He’s not doing well (advanced dementia) but mom is alright.  The hospital kept him overnight and I’ll probably have to drive mom up there today.
Then we went to our accountant and finished our taxes.  I claimed the Iron Maiden as a dependent last year and actually came out a few sheckles ahead!
Next we had to visit two pharmacies and still didn’t get all our meds (getting old sux).
Finally we visited the builders supply to pick up some more plumbing fittings.

Brett watch out with those wasps in the hedges. I keep the wasp spray by me because they love to hunt and nest in them. Last place you want to be without wasp spray is in a scaffold.

Here too.  It’s not warm enough for them to be active yet.  I need to set out traps to get the queens.  I don’t like getting stung but I love waging war on the wasps! 💥🤠

Brewed me a cup of bold dark roast then me and Boss went out and sat on the front porch. I love living off the beaten path. It was like the world outside didn't exist. All I could hear was the spring breeze blowing through the freshly greened up trees and the calls of various nature celebrating the arrival of another year.

Got all of the trash loaded up in the tundra to go to the transfer station in the morning. Took all of the flowers that I've been moving in and out of the garage all winter over to the garden area then took down the temporary fence we had around them. 🥵
