I know I will need a spring comprssor for tuning my Titan Gp. What type should I get and where can I get it from? Is there a way to make one? I searched this forum and could not find an answer.

First of all, welcome to GTA Forums. Glad you found us and joined up. There's a wealth of information here and a LOT of very knowledgable and helpful folks. First place to check would be the Library section. There you can click on several links. Under "Tips and Tricks" you will find Randy's Spring Compressor. Under "Projects" check out CDT Spring Compressor.
I bought mine from a fellow on the Yellow, sort of a Yellow fellow.
It is a VERY good compressor that has served me well and I've disassembled many a gun with it. Check it out here...

Be sure to post any questions or concerns and your progress with your home tune project.
Again welcome and....
Happy Shooting!!!!

Here's mine
http://www.lowes.com/pd_24813-1073-KR3.540_0_?productId=3054785&Ntt=bessey&Ntk=i_products&pl=1¤tURL=/pl__0__s?Ntk=i_products$rpp=15$No=30$Ntt=bessey$identifier=
It works like a charm! Purchased @ any Lowes. You could probably get by with the 36", but I went with the 40" just for any job.

Unless you have some form of securing the gun TO that clamp, you're asking for a disaster. You have GOT to control the gun as well as the spring when disassembling. Get ready for a barrage of replies...

A belt put snugly around the rifle make it nice and secure. Never had a problem in any tunes that I've done with it. A belt is a must.....thanks for mentioning that!

Well Targetdriver,
from the looks of the avatar, there was certainly one time you didn't use the belt to properly secure the gun

I've used pipe clamps, a home built, and I bought a B Square used.
You can make pipe clamps work but they are very dicey. The belt is a good suggestion at a minimum.
It is soooo easy for that assembly to slip out of the pipe clamp flats and launch, and that can go bad in an instant. I launched one and I was impressed with the power.
I think most of you are cleverer mechanics than I am. It depends on the rifle but I'd rather work with the same rig every time.
