While reading that last post about adding to the stable slayer thread, I contacted the seller ,he was 40 miles from me ,short story short its mine ,not sure when it was made its # 115 ,but in excellent cond except for one scratch on the shroud , the butt piece seems loose I don't see a way to tighten it with out wraping it with something like elec tape ,not a big problem just annoying, got home and shot a 6 shot group at 35 yrds and was impressed with the frist group, I don't even know what wieght slug or make just some that came with the gun, I have the new noe mold ,so time to get started casting,the one shot on the target that is not touching was the frist shot ,don't know what happened there, maybe I pulled it , will shoot some more groups today with some nsa slugs I have for the bulldog stay tuned

OH YEAH, Congrats again on the Slayer! They are just awesome guns. It would be neat to see a posted string with fill pressures. Also, if it were mine, I would be replacing the breech O-ring for reassurance sake and best performance. I know it's a really tough custom formulated O-ring, but the age of mine showed slight wear and was quite soft compared to the new one I ordered recently. I also gained another shot within the same 2.3% ES, and it was noticeably quieter to shoot. They are on the AAA site.

Thanks for the heads up on the seal , I noticed the stock moderator is segmented looks like it can be added on to but I don't see a option for it on AAA 's site . Need to quiet mine down a bit

To tighten the butt piece, look into the line of holes on the bottom under the butt, one will have an allen screw in it. Screw it in to adjust the length and unscrew it to lock the butt piece. Pretty neat way to build it, first time I've seen a screw used that way. Regards, Tom

Sorry for a second post. GTA is not allowing modifications this morning.

On the butt stock, you might try turning the screw counterclockwise to tighten it more. IIRC, I do believe mine had some black tape of some sort on it from a previous owner when I had it out. It was wide (not wrapped around), and looked professionally done. It doesn't rattle at all.

Yes, you can unscrew the top cap on the OEM LCD and add a DonnyFL Emperor to the existing one. It's kinda long that way, but I like the reduction in shot noise.

Keith , on the emperor, I was leaning toward the ronin to keep the length down , anyone have experience with the ronin on a slayer?

Carl,I read the link on the moderators , thats a long read, seems the author was not impressed with the donnyfl . I ordered a ronin anyway ,the reviews are all good, I can allways add the 6 inch extension if its nor quiet enough, I removed the scope that came with the gun its a utg 30mm accushot with a side wheel about a 120.00 scpoe on a 2k rifle, so I robbed a hawke 3x9x50 that has been a good preformer on my rainstorm sighted in at 35yds thats all I can do at home,when the ronin arrives I 'll be able to shoot more in the backyard, I live in a lakeside subdivision and all the weekenders are here for the holiday. I can see a 1st focal plane scope in my future

I got a baseline sound reading of 118 with the stock moderator on the slayer, hopefully the donnyfl ronin will get it down in the 90's, also tried to adjust the trigger but can't get the screws to move ,the manual says they use loctite on them at the factory and that .035 allen wrench flexes too much, think if I heat up the wrench with a electric heat gun then put it in the screw head that might loosen the loctite enough to adjust the trigger we'll see

Congrats on the New to me Slayer, that is how I got my Slayer too (just slightly used).
I ended up putting the DonnyFL Emperor on my Slayer if I need to be super stealthy. Now I can hear the pinging of the tube when shot.
It does make the gun longer but it is for tuning and shooting in places where I don't attract the attention it is great. As for scope, I ended up with Hawke Frointer FFP, sweet is all I can say. I can agree more with your statement about the price of the gun to scope, my feeling is it should at least be 1/3 of the cost of the gun.

Never cheap out on a scope if you are at all serious about precision.

My go to scope is a Zeiss, followed by the ffp offerings. Currently a Athlon FFP BTR. Nice scope.

The donnyfl ronin came in today, two days earlier than expected, so I installed it with the AAA moderator still attached for max sound reduction, avg. 108 on my meterk sound meter ,thats a 10 decibel reduction wish it was quieter but still a big improvement, also cast some slugs with my new noe 358-158 mold ,I got a 5 shot group of about 1 inch at 35yrds , still need to adjust the trigger, might do a hog hunt this weekend if I get all the bugs worked out

Nice to see ya getting to shot the Slayer, the Ronin will help some with noise reduction. If you are not worried about noise while hunting and you remove the Ronin, make sure POA is still on point. If I zero the Slayer at 100 yards with my Emperor installed then remove it, I get a slightly different POI at 100 yards. Might be worth checking out with the Ronin too?

Yeah Randy, with the ronin on poi is 2 inches lower than with stock mod. ,I would have thought poi would be higher but now I know better , I had a plano alweather case I bought for a ar15 ,it just got repurposed to slayer duty, still haven't shot it over the chrony, maybe tonite in the shop.too hot outside right now

A nice case and setup Ron. I put a piece of O-ring between the barrel and tube at the tube tip on mine when using the Emperor. That LCD is 10" or so and is heavy causing a visually slight droop. I haven't really tried POI with and without it, but with the added support it keeps the barrel visually the same. I just like that the LDC works well.
