The joys of a Crosman 400

Brought one of these home from the Findlay Airgun Show last month.  They are really hard to beat for just a great fun backyard gun. Had to finally reseal it after a month of shooting.  Even for a rookie like me they are a pretty easy reseal.  Looked like inside and it may have been original?  One of Ricks kits should do it for a long while.  Kind of takes over my 180 with the longer stock and more backyard friendly than my 160?  Accurate as anything I have but I do have guns with better sights.  Still perfect gun for plinking and cycling through 10 shot is very cool.  I can see why these Crosman CO2’s took over their market share they were a incredible value for the $ and to be honest easier to keep on the road.

Beautiful gun Steve. Has to be a lot of fun to shoot. Never had a repeater AG like that...I'd probably be fiddling around for another round ball to shove into it...LOL

  The model 400 is definitely a lot of fun.  I've put a few thousand rounds through this one.  Crosman 400 + "Ron Robinson" mounts + cheap Simmons 4x32 = winning combination.

I have a large backyard but given the confined range I will probably keep mine with open sights.  Makes it more of a challenge till my eyes completely go. Lol. I can see how these can be deadly with a scope.

I sure like mine.  I have 4 or 5 in various conditions but all are shootable.  I still don't have a late model version as all of mine are the early type with the safety through the stock.  I've been looking for a set of scope mounts for one but they are few and far between now.  You got yourself a very nice example of one.  I'll buy them in about any condition as long as the barrel isn't bent or it's rusted up solid.  They just call to me for some reason.

I think the 400 is the most accurate .22 pelgun in my collection. I was using the Meister pellets, however the Crosman Premier pellets feed just fine....and they are much cheaper.
The pics below are a circa 1996 Series 2 Sears Blonde "Trigger Block"400 variant I picked up for $75.00 at an Angel Stadium Gun Show.Bulk Feeding was done by Tim At Mac-1 Airguns back in the '90's. Scope is a 3x9 Bugbuster! My new all time favorite.    Scope.Mount is an old Sheridan I had to drill out to work. They don' make guns like this anymore!

I have lots of good Crosmans: 108, the 160 and the 180.  The 108 I have to pump, the 160 is too loud, the 180 is too short. The 400 is just perfect.  Hard not to grab it for a back yard shoot.  Not expensive, well made and easy to reseal.  Sometimes things don’t have to be expensive to be perfect? What gun is more fun than this?
