The model 400 is definitely a lot of fun. I've put a few thousand rounds through this one. Crosman 400 + "Ron Robinson" mounts + cheap Simmons 4x32 = winning combination.
I sure like mine. I have 4 or 5 in various conditions but all are shootable. I still don't have a late model version as all of mine are the early type with the safety through the stock. I've been looking for a set of scope mounts for one but they are few and far between now. You got yourself a very nice example of one. I'll buy them in about any condition as long as the barrel isn't bent or it's rusted up solid. They just call to me for some reason.
