B40 owners favor please

Could the B40 owners please post the average FPS of your guns including pellet type and altitude? Mine is shooting great but I am curious as to what others are seeing with there guns.

my b40 home tuned shot .177 crosman hp at 911 fps. i put close to 3000 shots through her before she left... very accurate

I just got mine from SciGuy, put some pellets through the ProChrono this evening. RWS Meisterkugeln, 8.2 grains, averaged 830 fps, Crosman Premiers(box), 7.9 grains, did 820 fps, the RWS pellet fit tighter, which seemed to boost the energy a little. My gun has the 12 fp kit in it, not a hotrod, but super smooth shooting, and as accurate as my TX200MkIII, can't get much better than that.

Glad you're enjoying the B40 and glad it is still shooting like when I last was able to use it.  Your FPS results are spot on where I tuned it at.  The 777 is shooting nicely.  Hopefully in another month or so I'll be really able to take full advantage of how accurate it is.

Mike,  the hottest I ever tuned my B40 was to around 925 FPS with JSB 8.4 gr pellets.  It just seemed much happier at 820 FPS.

So far the numbers being posted are pretty nice. Except Brutuz and his monster 17FPE .22 cal. Mine started out in the high 600 FPS range then dropped into the low 600's after trying several springs, from a Pro Sport to several factory replacements I never could get the gun to stay over 700 fps, even with the 15fpe kit from Vortek it was just substandard. Finally Tom at Vortek sent me a kit that had several synthetic washers and several metal and a test spring. After much fiddling I was able to get 855 FPS with a CPL. This is actually a great feat due to the fact I live at 7,000 feet above sea level. I have shot this gun this way for about a year and then the spring broke. I had an extra spring from Tom in my kit but it wasn't one of these special ones he makes it was just a plain ole B40 spring. First few shots were at around 880fps but that moved down fast and stabilized at 835Fps. It's a good shooter these days, just wanted to see how other B40's were stacking up.

Here are some fps numbers on a B40 .22 (I just purchased from a member) using HN FTTs, results @ 100' above sea level:

I think this B40 had about 200 pellets through it before I got it.

Thanks Johnny, maybe you should ask Brutuz how to get a little more power out of that gun. But those are some nice numbers, Right about the same as my RWS 34P .22.
Getting ready to get some more pix up of the herd once I finish the muzzle brakes.

I still have to sight the scope and see what the groups are like (I assume they will be as good or better than my B26-2, clovers at 25yds is normal, really nice MM tuned AG).    Brutuz sure does have a way of tweaking up these BAMs (great videos too).

With the B40 at 20 yards it's all one hole until I mess up. 30 yards pretty close to one hole but it's a bigger hole. You should really enjoy that gun. Sometimes I just don't use it because it is too easy to take out a target, takes away the challenge if you understand my meaning.

I posted these numbers a while ago:

1st shot - 632 fps
2nd shot - 631 fps
3rd shot - 628 fps
4th shot - 632 fps
5th shot - 624 fps
6th shot - 628 fps
7th shot - 627 fps
8th shot - 628 fps
9th shot - 627 fps
and
10th shot - 626 fps.

I was shooting .22 RWS Superdomes @ 14.5g a pellet.
My home is in London but live on a big hill so I am about 300ft above sea level.
The rifle has been tuned by Mike Melick.

Alan, that's pretty great consistency I bet it shoots spot on with those numbers. Ave. 628.3 FPE:12.7133. That's pretty much a perfect target (or bunny gun).

I know Mike but my 300ft rises from sea level straight up from the Thames river hehe.
