JSB Hades accuracy and expansion testing

I was able to do a little accuracy testing of the new 16 gr .22's last night. My Impact is set to shoot 18 gr at 890 fps on setting 4, and I had to turn the hammer setting down to minimum to get any decent groups with the Hades pellets. My 6 shot groups ranged from .370" to .428". I forgot to bring the Impact to work so I could check the speeds, so I'll do that tomorrow.

I also shot a few out of my Lelya, which is set to shoot at 900 fps with 16 gr pellets. I saw 5/8", 12 shot groups at 45 yards and I'm guessing a little slower velocity would tighten it up a bit.

I'll do some expansion testing tonight.

Styrofoam cup filled with water and used a backing of those air pillow packing sheets to catch the pellet.

Thats some nasty expansion with just a little water. I don't want to assume but was it a larger like 16oz cup where it had a couple inches of water to go thorough?

Yep, I didn't expect them to do so well!

I also shot them into a tub of water, and both times they each lost one of their lead petals. Probably because they entered the water at an angle.

These could be a real promising hunter pellet. Do you have any plans to test them in say a average "walmart" BB be it a springer or NP?

At 727fps out of my Maximus carbine with an 18" barrel they expand very well. 

At speeds past 930fps they do tear apart, but still cause a lot of damage.  They act like little mechanical broadheads.  You can actually hear them open up and cut thru flesh.  A very interesting sound.  With that same carbine I've taken squirrel at 15yds and P-Dawgs out to 45yds with no pass thru.  Total energy dump.

Nice shooting and YES - lighter pellets  should be more suitable for smooth twist barrels.
