We Are Becoming Noticed

We all shoot Powder Burners (or we should) and I subscribe tomany magazines dealing with that subject.
One, American Handgunner, normally deals with that subject almost exclusively.
In the May/June issue, however, they have started delving into the field of air power.
I suspect the Editor, just back from the Shot Show, was impressed with what he saw there and wants to expand his readership.
The current issue deals with:
1. Umarex Colt Shopkeeper revolver
2. Benjamin (Crosman) Traveler Compressor
3. Benjamin Tank and Fortitude Rifle
4. Umarex “BOOM” plastice bottle targets
5. Sig Sauer ASP20 Rifle
6. VIper Pro Scope

8. Birchwood-Casey Targets
9. Sig Sauer “We the People” BB Pistol

It's a mixed bag. Nice to be noticed and appreciated. On the other hand it is being noticed... if you get my drift.

Wont be long before some politician will note that "My God there almost as powerful as a 'real' gun"! "We need to regulate them!" with the ole standby "Think of the children!".

Were not Truly noticed just yet, I mean American airgunner doesn't even devote any time to pumpers 

I sure hope this magazine doesn't notice airguns even more, people find airguns just fine without a lot of media attention and I like this community small.
We don't need any regulations brought on by the media painting airguns in a bad light as they do firearms.

AirForce airguns are used by many "Airport" pest control officers to rid the runways of certain pest. They are used by the military for various task as well. All these articles are doing is raising the awareness of John Q Leftist and Sally Save The Children whom as indicated in another post will cry out to be saved from the Evil Airgunner through additional lawmaking!

Not good in my opinion. I don’t think airguns are protected by the second amended, which means states can outright ban them.

It's not like this comes as any type of suprise.
It was only a matter of time when "big bore" FPE wars started with companies trying to make a more powerful airgun.
Soon as somebody gets shot with one of those big bores, accident or not, the regulations will begin.

The FX Monsoon semi-auto PCP was the weapon used in a couple of New Zealand murder cases and it lead to changes in the law creating a "Specially Dangerous Airguns" category that requires a firearms license to possess.

All of you guy are correct and it is one of the reasons why I have always been concerned about stating the power we are achieving with our PCP arms.

Maybe after the next nuclear holocaust when the world is destroyed again, the dinosaurs return, and we start over again, we will learn from the error of our ways..
