After fighting a building fire last night from about 10:00 p.m. until about 03:00 a.m. I was plum tuckered out. I slept until the shift change alarm went off at 07:00 a.m. and went home and back to bed. At about 10:30 a.m. my wife woke me up saying that there was a strange truck in the driveway. It turned out to be the brother of my recently deceased neighbor from down the road. He lives a couple of hundred miles from here and comes by about once a month to check on his brother's place until it sells. I have only knew this man from a few chance meetings during his short visits to check up on the place. On one of his visits he had seen me shooting an air rifle and we struck up a conversation about it. Well now he is in my driveway telling me that he has something that I might be interested in. He had found his brother's Benjamin air rifle and he had no use for it. He showed it to me and asked if I wanted to make him an offer for it. I didn't feel right about it, but after talking for several minutes I had a better idea of what he would consider fair. I offered him $60 and he was happy. So now I have a real nice Benjamin 342 to add to my growing collection. Its fully functional and shoots pretty good. I've only shot it a couple of times so far, but it has a lot of promise.

Nice add
Love it when stuff like that happens. About 10 years ago, an elderly neighbor ambled over and asked me if I'd like to buy his "old pellet gun". He'd bought it more than 20 years before and put it away because he just wasn't into it. He knew I was an enthusiastic airgunner, and figured I might be willing to drop "$10 or so" on his "piece o' old junk", as he called it.
It was a like-new-in-box Crosman 600, with less than 100 shots through it.
I told him I would LOOOOOVE to buy it, but I didn't have the $200 it was (easily) worth. That dropped his jaw (I thought his dentures might fall out for a moment...)
I showed him how to post it on the old American Airguns Classifieds and he sold it in less than 2 days.
