Re-dressed my Pitbull today, makeover pics

So I got tired of the look my Pitbull had been sporting so today I broke out the rattlecans and gave it some new camo hunting clothes.

Actually, the colors are awesome in reality and the photos show maybe 50% of the effect.

It seems very green in the pictures but it is not and blends well with the branches and trunks of the river bottom thicket we have here locally.  Its more brown and gray than shows here.  It blends in at close range and at 50 yards too which shows I got it right on the complex small details and the broad pattern for viewing at a distance... or NOT viewing at a distance, haha
Here you see it sitting on my freezer which is full of hog meat!

I had a Optisan EVX 6-24x56i on the rifle but took it off for this one.  The Optisan is going on the Slayer when it gets here (and the scope and Slayer will get their own matching camo, but in a different style and pattern).

Five colors, two stencils and one sea sponge (and blue painters tape)

From taking off the old scope and masking the new one and some gun areas to finished product it took right at two hours, total.

I will let it dry for a week then because the camo paint is somewhat soft (but easy to touch up!) I will seal it all over with 'Clear Satin Polyurethane' and it will last for years of hunting in the real world getting the handling bumps and knocks in blinds, etc., dragging it in and out of vehicles and exposure to lubricants/solvents and skin oils and weather.  This pattern fits my home AO so it is 'permanent'.

For air rifles that get changed often to go to different climate regions I do not do the clear coat because it is easy to clean off the old paint or just cover it with a new pattern/colors.

I paid $200 ONCE for a camo job then decided I would learn to do it myself.
Watch eight or ten of the YouTube videos on how to do it then buy $30 worth of Rust-Oleum Camoflage rattlecan paint and make a piece of cardboard cut out in the shape of your gun and just experiment.  It's actually easy with some practice.  You will probably have to buy a second set of paint to actually do the rifle.
Or even go buy a toy rifle or cheap paintball gun and learn the skill on that.  Amazon and other sites have lots of stencils too.
The key thing is, if you don't like your results or want to try a different pattern it's easy to clean off and do it again!

Tip: don't lay your gun flat, hang it from the muzzle or butt so you can turn it around.
