Hatsan 100 Vortex .25 caliber.

    Seems to be a good deal on this .25 caliber Hatsan. But, the photo at Amazon shows a wood stock, but then says the color is black. Down below in the description it says black synthetic stock, so it's not got the nice wood stock in the photo.

    Seems low priced for a Hatsan Vprtex.

When air rifles are involved Amazon's photos can be laughably wrong and they seem to ignore any suggestions to correct the problem. They are selling one air rifle for just under $70 and are are using a photo of the Hatsan AT44S10 PCP rifle! That would be a huge bargain for the PCP, but the description and Hatsan part number listed indicate you will receive just a retail priced Alpha (good youth model) break barrel with the Muddy Girl camo stock!

The item you are looking at, according to the Hatsan part number lower in the listing, is NOT the wood stock version. It is the Striker 1000S Combo (scope included) Vortex (air spring) 25 caliber which has the standard Hatsan synthetic stock with soft synthetic inlays. At least that is what Amazon SHOULD ship for this listing. This is a NICE rifle and the mid $80 price is pretty good right now, but you may be able to go a little lower if you can watch and wait.

I purchased a new Edge Vortex Combo (same rifle, different stock) last year from PA during a special sale for ~$80. Amazon did have a Striker 1000W (wood stock) coil spring 25 cal for $75 last year, but it disappeared pretty fast.

I made this composite image when I was researching and comparing these rifles. Basically they are the same power plant in different stocks. Hatsans part numbering & naming system has recently been erased from the US website, but I think it this is close...
