I normally fill my Condors to 2200 psi especially when my 4500 tanks are low or I use my 3k psi Scuba tank, and get 30-35 consistent shots at 960-970fps with 25.4 JSB Kings on low power, and o-ring mod (o-ring behind tophat to reduce velocity and save air). Pressure is at ~1700psi before velocity starts dropping.Harry
Hi! I found this on eBay and thought you might like it! Check it out now! PCP Air guns Condor to Paintball Adapter Converter. I have one like this and its awesome for slinging pellets.I hook my 2200 psi to it and get about 40+ shots off my 3k 500cc thank around 1000 fps and with my 4.5k tank I get tired of shooting.150-200 shots!

Thank you in advance!

Thank you in advance! Randall, all my Condors have shrouds/LDC's. I know the more expensive one has baffles (the Talon Tunes one), the older Airhog ones I am not sure about, but they are all very effective. I do not have an SS. I have the regular Condors with 24" barrel(s) which are more powerful than the 18" barreled SS, and they are VERY quiet at velocities @ 1,000fps and below. They are still backyard friendly at 1,040-1,050fps, but extremely quiet below 1K fps and where I prefer to shoot them at to get more shots. I do not use regulators. I use the "o-ring mod" trick. It's very easy and takes 1-2 minutes to put a small o-ring behind the tophat. This immediately cuts back on the air the gun uses per shot, because it shortens the travel of the valve stem when the tophat smacks into the o-ring that sits in front of the valve. Then you adjust the power wheel to get the consistency at the velocity you want. My Condors also have the stock/OEM adjustable tophat, so I adjusted that as well (the distance of the tophat from the valve which also dictates the distance the hammer/breach slide travels before hitting the tophat) for better consistency along with the power wheel and the o-ring in place. There are 2 screws that you loosen up on the tophat and the tophat can then freely screw around the threaded valve stem to go up or down. Adjust, tighten, test on the Chrono, and repeat until you get the results you want.Without the 5 cent o-ring my Condors shoot the .25 JSB Kings way over 1,100 fps (and 1,080 the 31gr Baracuda) from only a 2,400psi fill, but the shrouds don't work well at supersonic speeds. The o-ring mod allows me to use the lighter more accurate JSB King and 31gr Cuda/Kodiak at subsonic velocities. But the best thing about the o-ring is that it works just as good or better than most regulators, so I save air and get consistent velocities with a 7fps extreme spread (ES) which means 1-hole groups @ 30yds without much effort, or a brain shot on a G-hog every time Condors are VERY powerful and use up a lot of air per shot from the factory. You need to tame them a little to get a high of # shots out its big tank, and better shot consistency.Harry
I have a SS in .25 and it has a TT top hat with inserts. I have no insert in it and even with the 18" barrel it has massive power for tree rats. At 35 yards I had one move on me and my shot was not perfect and it took a second shot. The first one just about gutted him. I think out to 75 plus yards a 18" .25 has plenty of small game hunting power.
Randall: like Ed pointed out, the SS also has a lot of power. Condors are very easy to work on. You can always put in a heavier hammer in your Condor and get 10fpe more out of it. A 24" Condor is very long when you add a shroud to it and it's not really for hunting in the woods or for shooting off hand. It's a "sniper's gun" that you shoot with a bipod or from a rest, a blind, etc. If you go into wooded areas the Condor SS or a Talon will be better suited. I recommend you post in the PCP gate for opinions and advice on which Condor to get, but I personally only used the Condor's high power for 1-2 years, and got tired of getting 12-15 consistent high power shots and refilling. The way to get the most shots out of a Condor and enjoy it more is to reduce the power. Another advantage of running it at low-mid power is it becomes more backyard friendly and easier to tune for consistency. Low power for my 24" Condors in .25 is 50-55fpe, and high power 90+fpe with 43gr EJ's (I actually have not tested its full power but have gotten 90fpe out of it from 2700psi and PW at 7-8). However, I have slightly heavier aftermarket brass hammers in mine which I really don't need, and were installed when I thought more power was good. But the fact is a raccoon or possum will go down just the same with 15fpe on impact as with 70fpe given the same head shot. I don't shoot or hunt at long ranges except for a couple of times when I had the opportunity, and this is what I think the Condor was designed for. Sniping at longer ranges. It's niche is that it offers high adjustability for the power/velocity, range you hunt, and type of animals you go after, and also for the pellet weight you want to use, plus it has 1 of the biggest tanks of any airgun. The .22 will take down any animal categorized as small game in North America. The .25 just ensures that if the shot is slightly off you can still make a kill, but it can't be off by much on medium sized game, as it's still an airgun and not a P/B. The important thing is the .25 also helps keep the velocities subsonic. A Condor .22 slings most pellets way too fast. My .22 Condor 24" with the wheel turned all the way down to 0 shoots 21gr Cudas at 990-1k fps. I could go with heavier pellets but it shoots the JSB 18.1 and H&N 21gr like laser. The 18.1's at 1,030fps still shoot really well. I avoid going over 1,035 fps because the muzzle report starts getting higher and the shrouds become less effective. You don't want to sling lighter pellets any faster than that in most cases anyway, except with heavier .25 cal. pellets. For ex. the H&N 31gr Cuda or Beeman 31gr Kodiak love 1030-1060fps. Seems the high velocity doesn't affect them a bit - same hole or small clover leaf at 35yds, but the report is higher, so I prefer to shoot them at 950-1k in my 25's to get more shots and better consistency. The last couple of years though I have dialed the .25's down even more to shoot the JSB 25.4 Kings in the high 900's so that I can use less air, get more shots and higher consistency. To achieve that and get 35 very consistent shots before velocity drops off, I have to fill to ~2,250 psi and use the o-ring mod (PW is at 2). I could get 50-60 shots like others are getting at the same power level from higher PSI fills, but I have to spent more time with the chrono and adjusting, and I am happy filling with lower PSI since I don't have a compressor and use tanks. Both Scuba and Paintball shops closed in my area a coupe of years ago, so I have to drive 35min. to the nearest shop that offers 4500 fills. So filling at 2250 (from 1700psi) really helps my tanks last. The Condor's large 490cc tank uses up your 4500 tanks quickly if you fill to 2800psi. So a lot of it depends what you plan on doing with the gun and the ranges you will be hunting. If you prefer 10-15 high power semi-consistent shots (80+fpe) for coyote at 50-100yds then get the Condor 24" in .25 cal. If you want 50-60 lower power 45-50fpe shots then an SS would work fine. The 24" just adds more FPE with the same air per shot that the SS is using due to the longer barrel. It's just that the 24" with a good shroud is 50-51" long(!) and not that easy to handle or shoot off hand. I do not recommend shooting this weapon system off-hand whether SS or regular/24" anyway. As far .22 vs. 25 either one is fine, except with the .22 you will find yourself lowering the power a lot to keep the velocities manageable, but you will be able to get a few more shots out of the .22 vs. the .25 that needs more air to sling the heavier pellets, unless you use very heavy .22's, then there is no difference. Whichever one you choose, SS or 24", in .22 or .25 cal will put a smile on your face regardless All of them are highly versatile and easy to tune without going into the valve or taking the gun apart (which is also easy), and above all accurate! Harry
Pretty much you get a paintball tank regulator of your choice (Aliexpress has them for as little as $15 from 1600 psi-3000psi)You hook that into your 500 cc tank that comes with your airforce...put your airforce valve in the attachment and you have a regulated gun.If you get a 2200 psi Regulator then it will allow 2200 psi in the attachment for your shot each time.Mine will give me a spread of about 10 fps over 40-50 shots with my 3000 psi tank.I can stack one hole groups at 50 yards because my gun is shooting the same speed over and over.cuts out the pressure drop of the normal tank.so without the regulator my first shot in my escape may be 1100 fps..2nd may be 1130 ...3rd 1090...4th 1075..and so on!With this Ill get 1000 fps 1st shot....1003 2nd shot....3rd 1005...4th 1001! very consistant
Well you will need a scope and rings. Also you need a way to fill it. Oh and A LOT of pellets
Randall, 15.9gr @ 800fps is very real with the Talon SS (12" barrel), and about mid-800's with 14.x pellets. If you want more power the 18" Talon will give you another 30fps or so but you will have to get a shroud for it. I am confused though, you said you were contemplating the high power of the .22 or .25 Condors, but now you are talking about a Talon SS with the 1/3rd the power of a Condor? My post about the Condor's power scared you a little? I was going to recommend the 450fpe AF Texan .45, but I guess I won't now... Just kidding, hehehe Here is another fact to make it harder for you to make a decision You can always swap out the tank of a Talon with a Condor high-flow tank (the valve comes with the tank) and have close to Condor SS power But really guys, we need to discuss the Air Force Talon/Condor in the PCP gate, not here. I am probably most guilty of that when it comes to the Condor and people asking questions Let's get back to the item the OP posted. Thanks,Harry
