Interesting development of this thread. Since the preset of my first video and a lot of allegations of fraud and reports that it is just one rifle that no one has ever seen. So when the rifles finally geth to the market among other shooters and I record another long-range video with a better image and a double film shot of the target, then suddenly no one has anything to say ? That the skeptics would run out of options, which I warned them a few years ago that would happen, who knows  ?

Anyway, I will soon add a video at a distance of 1000m (1 kilometer) where 3 hits in a row will be very close to the scatter to 1 MOA and yes it is using the same M24 as for the world record, only for that time further improved.  I hope the skeptics return and claim how impossible it is with the airgun. Without them there is a boring thread

Altaros regulators are well known, and well respected.  Why would anyone think you are making up the performance of your M24 PCP rifle? 

If there is a mistake, it may be showing it too soon:   In the USA, "time to market" is everything.  If it is not on the market, "it does not exist".  This attitude has US manufacturers put out products before they are working properly.  This approach, one would think, would be much worse for the company's reputation, than delaying the sale of a product, until the developer and manufacturer deem it market ready.

We are waiting for the snow to melt and then to start shooting again, well be interesting to see how the rifle performs.

I really like new designs. I know you have worked on this design and put a lot of effort into it. I applaud the effort.

For me though, posting shooting sessions at ranges most people will never shoot at does nothing. I lost track of shot count to hit ratio but it didn’t appear to be hitting the target consistently. No doubt, just getting close is a feat in its own but to what purpose. Who knows what is GOOD or NOT GOOD at that range with an air rifle.

More REAL LIFE info and such would help your cause better.

 The thread title says 60fpe in 22, is that max? Did that number change any by the time production started?

I understand getting frustrated with naysayers…I’ve had my share on forums as well. It’s best to just shake it off and keep doing what your passionate about.

I don't have the facility to shoot an airgun at over 1000 yards either.  But, I think the point is that if it shoots well at multiples of my intend range, then there is no question about how well it will do at my intended range.

For instance, one MOA at 205 meters is much more interesting to me than the fact that it can reach well over 1000 meters.  This suggests equal or better than one MOA between 50 and 100 yards.  And that might be of interest to you:






How much of that 60 FPE is retained at 50 to 100 yards?  Is it enough for you?  If not, I get the impression that there is a .25 caliber version with heavier bullets in the works.  This is based on .25 turned bullets for sale on the Altaros website; and perhaps some of the other videos:

I understand completely if something shoots WELL at ranges further than my intended range, it stands to reason it will do even better at my intended range.

I think it would be better to show how it groups on paper at 100 yards. People can get a better idea of accuracy from seeing how the bullets group instead of seeing an object being shot from distances most will never shoot at. Most airgunners shoot at 100 yards and under. I get that you’re trying to prove that it’s a long range tack driver but throw in a 100 yard group shooting paper to make it more relatable.

Very difficult to answer due to the very large effect even light breezes have, especially when they vary continually.

Testing at the "standard" 100 yards should be included, because many people can relate.  The question is; is this air rifle intended for air rifle shooters, or long range firearm shooters...  If the former, ranges beyond 200 yard are very unusual.

I think that the purpose of the 1000+ yard shots is to prove how high the turned bullet ballistic coefficients are.

I got the same feeling, the true feat is that the slug performs well at those ranges with such little initial energy. I hope this rifle comes to market in the US, it looks sharp, performs well, and more options is always better.

The video was created during the shooting on the weekend before IWA 2022. I myself was surprised what shot was possible to achieve at 1000m, especially on a given windy day. The wind blew most of the day from 12 o'clock (11-1 o'clock) at a speed of 12-15 km / h.  This is seen on moving branch trees when zooming out videos. The tree is located at a distance of 205m.

During the shooting, I saw that I was very close to hitting cans, but it wasn't until later in the editing that I realized how excellent the shot was.
Definitely my best 3 shots group in my almost 30 years shooting history. Luck surely helped here, but without high technology Altaros M24 airgun and CNC turned ATP slugs  this would not be possible.

I already have the option of regular shooting at 100m (112 m exactly ) so later in the day I will add some standard shots at "normal" distance.

Fantastic groups for such long range with an air rifle!

This is how real groups are shown, usually paid promoters show only one of the best groups. I think we would have better groups if you had a better barrel.
I dream of such a good and consistent valve with high power as announced by RTI and 4.5 mm 100+ FPE that our member Tofazfou has...

Cant wait go testing long range.
Tuned it ATP 5.5mm 31 gr @ 910fps.
Was from factory quite close.
Really consistent also from box. For 20 shot string most 910 and couple 903 and 907.

Its only single shot but i think its actually quite cool this kind use

Really “realistic” feel. Bolt is bit tight pull but because airgun and hammer spring. Quite impossible make it light without leaver.

Jari, regarding your last photo, is that the air feed through that flexible line?.... Marco stated that the airtube was around the barrel, but that photo shows the pressure gauge in a separate tube below the barrel, that must be enclosed in the stock.... Is that a plenum, and if so, how does the air get from the tube around the barrel into it?....
