I have a yong Heng and it worked great to fill guns for a few months. Heard a loud pop and I don’t want to mess with it. No longer builds pressure.

I almost pulled trigger on nomad 2 refurbished and then found this post.


I believe patience may pay off with this compressor. Saving my money and pumping until this thing comes out!

Jacob, have you checked the burst disk on your YH?  If that's what popped, it's an easy fix and will get you back in business!  I've had my burst disk blow a few times, and it'a always blown well below the 4500 psi limit.  There should have been a few spares packaged with the compressor.  They look like the holes left over from a paper hole punch, but they're brass.

I do have those brass disks, but I am unable to find where they go. Is there more than 1 location on the pump that has burst disk?

It's the brass nut you see on the side of the block just below the gauge.  Remove that and remove the blown disk.  You may have to look inside and use a pick to remove the blown disk if it doesn't come out with the brass nut.  Then just pop the new disk in and snug that brass bolt back down good and tight!

I took it off and I see the burst disk. It’s still wedged in there. It has a dimple on it as if it were starting to get pushed out. I wonder if that’s enough for it to start leaking

You may want to pull it out and inspect it.  I have had them blow where the perfect circle is missing from the cent of the disk and have also had them blow it where it's just a pin hole sized opening right on the edge of the dimple.  It wouldn't hurt to replace it while you have it open.

Also, before you start it up, unplug it, and remove the cover.  On the back of the motor you'll see a black plastic fan.  Make sure you pressure release valve is open and turn it over a couple times by turning the fan.  Listen for anything that may sound loose inside the cylinder.  If something sounds loose, I would not run it until you tear it down to rebuild it because you may have crack the piston or blown one of the high end rings (if it's one of the high end rings, you probably won't hear anything).  If all seems smooth and quiet, then put the cover back on, plug it in and see if it will build pressure.

have not heard anything to change the june date, maybe travis knows more, X is moving into a new facility in texas so they have been a bit busy

I tend to be a instant gratification kind of guy. I will wait for products, but if I need air and I don’t have a means of getting it, I’ll find a way.


I ordered the Omega Trail Charger from AoA.

They have them in stock for 799.99. I know it’s  more expensive than what jsar will have them for. But I need air and the nomad failed me.

The omega trail charger looks very similar to the one xisico compressor. I’ll guinea pig it and let y’all know how it is. Curious as to how the xisico/jsar version will differ from the omega.

Isn't the Omega water cooled? I thought that the JSAR version is going to be strictly air cooled?

So they have different methods of cooling. Ok. But Jsar submitted changes to be made to it and we don’t know what those changes are.

We shall see.

I know I have been waiting patiently for the JSAR version which is air cooled. Hopefully I won't be disappointed because I already have a couple water cooled HP compressors.
