Installing the GRT III In Trail NP Hardwood----
«

( I changed the title from Help needed / Mr tuna got me in the right direction but i want the inf to be available to anyone else who may encounter this problem)
First off i would like to introduce myself...Greetings to All / My name is Pete and I'm new to this generation of airguns ...The last time I owned one was 35 years ago. LOL ( Ya So I'm dating myself ,it's ok) Amazing advances in technology.
So I got me a Trail NP Hardwood...Had it a month and have only put about 20 rounds through it.
Got to say ,I don't like that trigger. So thanks to all the great information on this forum I decided to get GRT III . So this were at all begins..
Took the stock away from the Barrel Assembly ..... One screw was all stripped on the end. Looked like they were hitting each other--- no ,just my mistake. Someone in China stuffed it in that way. No problem Crosman will send me a new screw. Meanwhile i cleaned up the screw. the threads in barrel are ok.
Now I look at the trigger assembly and everything is similar but different than anything in the Install PDF for this product. The pin is 180 from anything else that is shown and the mechanism is in the way of removing the pin ... I have added some pics. I have also E-mailed Mr. Tuna ( No reply as yet ) If someone has installed this trigger on this gun before please let me know if your pin was in the same position or is mine 180 off? And what to do seeing as how the pin is being blocked from removal.
Not the way I wanted come in to this forum but I'm sure happy to know someone is out there who can help.
So much for a ten minute install. LOL

Pete, welcome to GTA Forums. Glad you found us airgun nutz and joined in. And welcome to the wondergul world of modern airgunning. It's amazing the advancement in the old BB guns of our past. Now wait, you got me dating myself too.
There's a lot of info on the forum, check out the library section. Also, as far as posting pictures, there's a few ways to do that. Check out this sticky in the Announcement Gate for some hints and tips.

After posting pictures, it will help us in helping you. But of all the guns I've changed out to the GRT trigger, it was a simple 5 minute deal. Keep us informed, we'll get you fixed up. You can also look on Bob's website
http://charliedatuna.com/
and read his posted instructions.
Again welcome and....
Happy Shooting!!!!

No Pics for help, but are you asking about the pin that is in the trigger itself(the one that gets smaller and travels in up an down slot)? If so lift trigger up out of trigger group then remove from trigger, place back in in same direction removed into GRT.
Sorry, and Welcome to the GTA!!!!!!

Got a Call from Charlie... The pin is in Backwards.. Just lightly tap the barrel to crack it a smidge. Drop the pin right out . better safe than crying I say.
Hope this helps anybody else who may encounter this problem.
So I'm off to complete the install.
Cheers!

To NPetey.
Welcome vto the GTA, like your good self, I am new to Airguns. I have also just fitted a CDT GRT3 trigger. It took me 2 trys to get it right. After the 1st try, my gun would not ' cock n lock ", back to the instructions, aah, thats what I missed. 2nd try, perfectos. Human Error, all mine, Im afraid. Your fault seems to have happened at the manufacturers, aah well, thats mass production for you. Bound to happen once in a while, I suppose.
Good to have the support of a forum like the GTA. I have found it immensely informative, and very friendly, theres always a welcome comment.
Again from 1 newby to another Welcome, glad your up and running.
