Matt, wrong!!! I was ordering parts and asked just for my own information since I had them on the phone. They have the new part number in the system, but no stocking date. As soon as items are in the pipeline, dates are viewable. I called in November to order a barrel, no barrels. I was told they should be in in December. If you remember the first release of the Fortitude, many release dates were given before actual delivery. I will believe a CS rep in front of a computer before I believe a rep at a show. Sorry.

I just want to get or buy the parts to upgrade my First Gen Fortitudes .... (Yes Fortitudes)..... I really want another 50 ish fps more . I don't really care about the tough cocking, but being able to tune the velocity so all my Fortitudes (Yes Fortitudes) match is very important to me.

Here is one of my Forts with a Disco stock ... all my Forts BTW have Disco stocks !!!

I'm watching this thread with great interest.

I haven't read anywhere that the Gen 2 can be adjusted to a higher power than Gen 1. They will come at a mid-level setting, that is lower than current, according to a Shot Show video. Cranking up the power, will just be getting back to the Gen 1 default. ie they are using a weaker spring that has more adjustability with pre-load. The weaker spring makes cocking easier, and helps reduce trigger pull.

Also, no need for you to wait to try it. Order the Prod end cap (1700-012), adjuster (1700-011), and spring (1700-009). My guess, around $15-20 in parts. You can try using your current spring, but it will not take much pre-load before it goes into coil bind. There are also a couple of springs to try between the Prod and Gen 1 Fort.

Y'all should have just made the Prod longer and added the Mrod trigger. It would have been cheaper to make, and less buggy, due to the Prod already being an established platform and performer.

Inquiring minds would like to know why didn't they go this route.

Probably not. I too, would like to know why Crosman didn't go this route- since bean counters pretty much run the company, I would have thought this route would be the ultimate win-win scenario for the company: "New" product, no real changes to supply, parts, fasteners, happy customers, room for expansion w/special editions or versions, HUGE aftermarket support already in place, nearly instant big sales and success of the product... smh- the list goes on...

The Prod lists for $100 more than a Fortitude. How can they make the Fortitude cheaper by using Prod parts? The marketing audience for the Fortitude is the under $300 crowd. It is what it is.

Will2506 I seen you have your fortitude is in a disco stock. Did you have to modify at all or were they drop in? If that's the case boyds now has an "at1" thumbhole stock that's bad to the bone. Definitely worth considering. I was thinking about putting that setup together for my wife to shoot because of how light it is.

He enjoys shooting his crosman pellet gun and my marauder .
