All,

Velocity Outdoor is pleased to announce that the Fortitude GEN2 will be launched at SHOT Show next week. We have isolated the cause of many of the concerns cited on this site and have taken the necessary steps to address all of the shortcomings experienced with the initial launch. What has changed? Steps were taken in the design to minimize any leakage. Additionally, we reduced the cocking effort, improved the trigger pull and enhanced the shot strings.

I am really excited about getting the Fortitude Gen 2 into the hands of customers and reviewers so all can experience the enhancements first hand.

The only thing my Gen I Fortitude needs is a better trigger, the rest of the gun is just perfect to me. I did the Baker Gold Trigger mod, and although the trigger feels good on the finger the pull is still too stiff and mushy. I think the Marauder trigger would be well worth the added price.

With all the factory defects addressed, the Benjamin Fortitude again rises to the top of my wish list. Standing by to find out what online reviewers have to say about the new improved Fortitude, before I too buy one.

All things considered, my observation at this juncture is along the lines of .... Yeeeeeehaw ! Ahem, I mean to say that this is a positive development that puts a wide grin on my mug fer sure.

Charlie - Glad you like the gun. With the updates the trigger will improve stinky because of the reduced pull weight. Otherwise it will be the same Fortitude just better.

Travis - Looking forward to it.

Tony - I am hoping for a much more positive launch of this one.

Holes have been deburred before assembly..? Wish I knew the twist rate of the barrel..

I want to see it first and read reviews. There were many issues with this gun that I experienced first hand other than hard to cock and leaking issues. For example I couldn't load the magazine in the breech and the stock bolt when fully tightened still allowed a lot of movement. It also is quite anemic when it comes to power compared to it's competitors. Only 17 or 18 FP. It is not very versatile since there is no way to adjust the hammer. One of the ones I received also had a bad case of barrel droop and it was almost impossible to adjust the scope. I love Crosman's customer service and I own 3 discos and 3 marauders and I want this gun to be a good one. I wish the repeater breech would fit my discos and I and thousands of others would be very happy. Chet

I gotta admit... I was initially excited when the Gen1 was announced. What happened after that made me real salty. Makes me just a bit "gun shy" with the Gen2. I truly hope my apprehensions are wrong.
The lower priced magged PCP guns put a huge spin on the game. It will be interesting to see if the semi auto platform follows suit.

I would bite, however I've already put a multi-shot breach, and shortened barrel on my Maximus along with ssg hammer adjustment and opened the ports.

It is a fine shooter!

Here's a few new Fortitude spec for you to check out. "Adjustable hammer spring. You can adjust to the velocity/shot count you want. 34% reduction in cocking force, 20% reduction in trigger pull weight"

Let me see if I have this straight. Twenty percent of a 5 to 7 lb. trigger pull is what, a pound give or take a little. I'm really excited that now I'll still have a 4 or 5 lb. trigger pull. That issue can be resolved though with a drop in marauder trigger. I don't want to be negative until I see the total new package. The adjustable hammer spring is certainly a good and needed feature. Any idea about availability of the Gen 2? This will be my next air gun for sure.

Though heavy for some folks, I don't mind a 4# trigger on a hunting gun, and that's exactly what the Fortitude is to me. I've hunted with DA pistols in the distant past and my most-recent trip was with a bone-stock trigger on a B-3. not saying it's a good idea, but Crosman taking time to address and/or look at the issues large and small is comforting.

I still may order up that sidelever breech on amazon, though,
