WTT/WTS .22 Ataman M2R Carbine Ultra Compact for Taipan Mutant

Ugh... I've only had this gun for two whole days, but it's a no-go, so it needs to move on...

I picked up a used Ataman UC Carbine because I thought it would be my new truck gun (just moved the Talon SS), but after messing around in my truck for hours, I've come to the sad conclusion that this simply won't work for my needs. I already have one awesome gun (s510) that doesn't fit in my truck, so I need to stick to my goal and find a truck gun that will work for me, despite how much I'm already loving this carbine. If I'm being totally honest, I almost think this gun feels BETTER than my s510, but I want to have my "long gun" be a long gun.

For full disclosure, I'm (at least) the third owner, so there are some wear spots and small scratches (see pics) that I noticed immediately when I got the gun, last Friday. Nothing hard-core, but I don't want you to think you're getting a safe-queen. I knew it would be bouncing around in my truck, so I kept my eyes open for used guns with signs of wear.

It is mechanically perfect, and operates flawlessly. I actually like the sidelever more than the sidelever on my s510, because it has this beautiful, snappy release and return. It feels like a Swiss watch. From posted feedback, it seems to be still on stock settings, sending 18.13 JSBs at a regulated @815fps (26.7fpe). There are some confusing numbers out there, so here's the official-official from me: The barrel is 11 inches (give or take .25, since I used a straw to measure without disassembly), with the remainder the shroud. You can see more video reviews online that go into accuracy, etc., but this gun is right there with every other LW gun I've owned and shot.

The magazines are great, and index perfectly. I like that you can lock them in place and fill while STILL on the gun. So clever.

I really like the walnut stock, and the forearm is great for offhand, and the groove above the trigger is the perfect place to rest your finger while walking. The folding stock is SOLID, and the LOP feels good when adjusting. I love that the weight is a little forward because of the folding stock, so combined with the short length, the gun almost feels like it's pointing itself. It's very comfortable, shouldered, and is nimble to point.

Writing all of that really ticks me off... haha. Its a great little gun, but I MUST have a truck gun that can mount exactly where I need it to mount...

The deal:
My intent is to do a straight trade for a .22 Taipan Mutant Standard (Gen. 1 or Veteran, I don't care. NOT a shorty). I would love it if the Mutant has some scratches and wear marks, too, so I don't feel bad using it in my truck. If not in driving distance to exchange, we'll each cover shipping to each other.

If no trade is available, I'll take $1,050 for everything, shipped to lower 48. Paypal, cash (in person), and checks are accepted, but gun will not be shipped until check fully clears if paid by check. I never got it in a box, so I'll also need to fabricate something that will protect it, if shipping.
