Any Benjamin Traveler (or similar) owners out there?
« on: January 05, 2019, 05:08:54 PM »
So I got my Ataman M2R yesterday and went to fill it with my Traveler but it was only able to fill it to barely over 200bar.  I will attach a picture of how I have the gauge set up, I don't see how I can adjust it any further.  Maybe I got a bum gauge?  I'm going to contact Crosman on Monday but I'll likely be putting this one on Ebay and getting the new all in one Air Venturi one that PA has in stock now.  Thanks in advance for any help!

Looking at the gauge, I see no reason you shouldn't be able to set for 300 bar if desired. Can the traveler pump that high?

Does it just shut off at 200 bar, or is that all the pressure it will put out?
The auto shutdown setting on your gauge doesn't look right.
I have this compressor and it works great.

Jonnie - It shuts off just after 200 bar, even though the gauge is saying it's maxed out.  I have a feeling I have a bum gauge because the actual measurement needle that moves has always been at 100 bar, it doesn't reset to zero.  Is there anyway you can snap a pic of your gauge on your unit for me so I can compare it?  Thanks again for all the help guys.

I'll try to take a picture later today. Have you tried to adjust the high pressure cutoff switch all the way down to almost zero then back up to your desired pressure setting? That may free up the other needle.
You might also try to set the high pressure cutoff switch to 100 bar and see if it shuts off at that setting.
Use your blanking foster fitting for testing.

Jonnie - After following your suggestions I was able to free it up and get it to reach my desired pressure!!!  Thank you so much for the help, I don't think I could handle hand pumping that bad boy up to 300 bar again...  :o

Zack, glad you're back in business. Hope it continues to work.
Could have been a one time glitch.

Unfortunately it only worked one other time and now the needle is stuck again.  To top it off the little mechanism that lets you adjust the needles is now stripped out and won't let me move anything.  Lol, I have the worst luck.  No worries, it has a one year warranty but I don't look forward to finding how much the shipping is going to cost both directions.  Such is life though, back to the hand pumps for now.

At least we tried. Sorry to hear that. It doesn't matter what you buy. Once and awhile we just get the bad one I guess.

Will do guys, I contacted them this morning and they are emailing me a UPS shipping label today.  They did say they had no idea how long it may take to fix because they do not stock parts for these so we shall see.  I'll let you guys know when I get it back, and thanks again for all your ideas/help!

Just to update everyone, I sent my compressor back on the 7th.  They received it yesterday and I received an email that they were sending me a replacement compressor.  I'm very pleased with their customer service, I was fully expecting them to try and fix it and take 6-8 weeks but they went above and beyond in this situation IMO.  I'm a huge Crosman fan and will make sure I do more business with them in the future!

Final update...compressor was just dropped off and it works great!  So happy with how fast the process was and I'm glad I can put the Hill pump up and get back in the woods!  Thanks again for all the help!
