Checking in

Hello everyone,

Just checking in to introduce myself as per in accordance with GTA SOP .  Got my first bb gun when I was around 10 years old.  I had a paper target taped to a cardboard box that trapped most of the bb's so I could use them again. One day my brother and I were unsupervised, we were playing quick draw.  We would stand with our back to the target then whip around, shoot to see who could get closest to the bull. On my third attempt I whipped around but pulled the trigger a bit early and shot my brother in the butt.  He let out one heckuva yelp that got the attention of our dad.  Needless to say he wasn't happy, he inquired as to what happened then took the gun then proceeded to paddle my hind end for good measure.  A lesson I'll never forget.

Anyway,  after retiring from military service, getting married and about 45 or so years since having my butt paddled by dad.  I happened to come across Pyramid Air website and saw for the first time just how far air guns had come along.  I went to Walmart bought my first ever pellet rifle a Ruger Blackhawk Elite.  Man was I ever impressed with that! Slapped a scope on it and found it to be fairly accurate using GAMO Red Fires and a lot of fun too, who knew such things existed!  Just a few days ago I cracked open the wallet and purchased a Hatsan 135 .30 caliber, it arrived today with a tin of 44.75 grain Predator Polymags. Can't wait to take it for a spin but I need to get a nice case to protect that nice walnut stock first.

I have a collection of old firearms a replica Colt 1851 Navy, a Walther factory K43,  Venezuelan Navy FN 49 and an old Soviet TT33. But gun powder and brass is much more expensive than pellets.  Me thinks more Airguns are in my future.

Couldn't wait, I got up early this AM to shoot a few at a target before work, as I suspected sights need a lot of work.  Was heading to the range tomorrow so I'll work on it there.

Lots of great info and helpful Family here at GTA.
Don't worry to much if the Rifle is not perfect out of the box. It does take some break in to settle down at times.
