Well, guys and gals after separating my BBD a couple of times the OEM stock is starting to show its wear and tear. The little brass inserts are breaking the plastic is cracking or breaking in the screw housing etc... So I'm wondering if anyone that has the equipment to manufacture a solid stock rather than a two piece stock design? Or has anyone contemplated a new design? A stronger two piece design? I've found a site where the inserts can be purchased and a plastic repair kit to handle some of the repairs, but that can be tedious and time-consuming. The plastic repair kit ”Plast-Aide” is about $30.00 for 6oz kit. I would have to look up the insert price, because I'm not home but using my cell to write this topic. Anyway thanks in advance.

Are you perhaps over tightening the screws, I've had mine apart about ten times and no problem. Regards, Tom

Might just want to call Crosman and see how muck they want for a R3571-070 and 071 left and right stock replacement or just try do the epoxy and insert repair. I haven’t seen any other stocks for it.

Possibly, since I was used my hand drill, never above the #3 torque setting. I will have to call Crossman about the two halves, to see how much they are. Then hand tighten from here on out. Thanks for replying.

Hi Ken, can you let us know what they want for the two half’s, when I took mine apart I was going to use a electric drill but decided to just do it by hand being I didn’t want to risk over tightening the screws even with the torque turned down but even doing it by hand I still like to give them that little extra turn which I’m sure one day will catch up to me and put me in your situation.
Hope you get it fixed soon.
Jim.
