Anyone Change Parallax On A New Center Point 4 x 32 Scope ?

This is a very inexpensive scope, put on a very light Daisy 880. The objective does not turn to get to the lens adjustment threads (one piece), but there are threads on the inside holding the glass in place.

Has anyone changed the parallax on this inexpensive scope ($24.00). This scope does have a nice FOV and is very light and small ... Just what this gun needs. A UTG 4 x 32 is way to heavy for this gun.

I want this gun to stay as light and have the smallest profile possible. The Daisy branded Tasco 4 x 15 that came with the gun is pure &*%$ and the Tasco 2-7 x 20 IMHO is not much better.

 Unscrew the front protective ring, that allows better access to the ring that holds the glass, there should be 2 little cutouts in the threaded area.  One can usually take a small flat blade screwdriver, and turn the lens counter clock wise while doing the headbob test for parallax at the yardage you want it set to.

I have two with long eye relief on two pistols and adjusted both of them as James said.

Unscrew the front protective ring, that allows better access to the ring that holds the glass, there should be 2 little cutouts in the threaded area.  One can usually take a small flat blade screwdriver, and turn the lens counter clock wise while doing the headbob test for parallax at the yardage you want it set to.

This is a great technique for getting "fixed" parallax rimfire scopes to work with your Daisy 880. I usually set mine at 15 yards and leave it. Another scope I recommend is the CVLife 4x32 compact on Amazon for under $20. It has a "mildot" reticle, and is great for plinking out to some really impressive distances. Here's what it looks like on one of my 880s:



If you ever see a good deal on a Tasco Pronghorn 4x32, snag it up. They are probably the easiest non AO scope to adjust parallax on. Loosen the objective end of the scope (which is the locking ring), exposing a threaded ring. Simply screw this threaded ring in/out to adjust. Once you've got it set for your range, you can tighten the locking ring to save your adjustment.

I have changed many an inexpensive scope for shorter Parallax range, but they all had an outer ring that I could unscrew - take off and then make adjustments. I saw the slits for removing the lock collar, but maybe I did not apply enough pressure to twist the collar ... It feels like plastic and I was afraid I would break it ;- (

One of mine was extremely tight (the outer ring) but once loose the inner turned easily.  The other one, the outer ring was just snug but the inner stayed snug to the outer one so took a different finesse.

correction mine are the 2 x 20s.  They do have a n outer ring though.

You can see one side of the slit in the Objective Locking Ring in this photo. There is no big screw in locking ring that you can unscrew with your hands like in many other scopes.

I tried to twist this off using my finger nails and that did not work, I may need to grind down a paint scraper blade to see if that would work .... but I don't want to strip the notch or ruin the scope. I hope with the scraper blade and a firm, yet light moderate force it will break free ... I'll get the scraper blade from Harbor Freight later today !

I use a small flat blade screw driver as well. Again, use the headbob method.

I have an inexpensive set of jewels screw drivers (tiny),(dollar store), and have used the larger flat blade for adjusting.

Well, I bought a paint scraper and sanded it down so it fit those grooves perfectly, and  ... THIS BABY IS NOT BUDGING ! The lock ring is in solid as heck. i gave it more force then I intended and it still did not move, so that is that

I can live with it like it is, it is much better than the scope that came with it as it has a nice field of view.  Keeps a small, balanced profile, is very light and looks good on the gun.

If I should find that this scope is just not working out, then I will change to a CVLife 4x32 like Geo has, but for the time being I will live with it .

Let's say it was possible..  After that, should we put a drop of Loctite, or similar, holding the glass in the desired position?
