So, for Christmas, im getting a Gamo Urban in .22. im wanting to put a bipod on it, but i cant find a good bipod  under 100 dollars, so, can you people help me

I've been pretty darn happy with my Atlas knock off from ebay. Under $25.00 shipped. To me it's every bit as good as my UTG Recon only lighter. Just can't beat it for that price IMHO.

mine has become my favorite and am going to buy another very soon.

I have the Recon 360 and the Atlas Clone. I like the Atlas Clone a lot more. Much easier to use and adjust quickly.


I did the tightening mods shown on youtube, and it makes for a very reliable rig.

So another vote for the Atlas Clone, but cost double of the others for a grip. GRRRRR!!! the spiked feet could be useful in some areas, but mighty rough on a bench. LOL

The issue I had with the Recon 360 was the locking tabs and the locking slots they lock into are soft alu. and wear. It eventually dumped a gun on the bench by folding up on it's own. Fixed it for a while, until it became totally unreliable.
Additionally, the swivel cannot be adjusted tight, and will let a AG tilt on its own to the point it call fall on softer earth. Good looking bipod. bad materials and needs redesigning to be dependable over time.



The Atlas Clone however has steel on steel locks and is much stronger, yet simpler and lighter. It has me wishing for a Genuine Atlas. Very good design. Ultra fast to set up and shoot.


A trick I found to tighten the Clone is to cut a simple short piece of Milk Shake straw, slit it long ways and feed it into the button that released the legs. It will remove a LOT of play as the buttons are want to wiggel in their seat. I also used a set punch on the steel stars to narrow the slots. It now locks up "tight".
All in all, a great little unit.


Do look up on youtube for the O Ring mod. Makes a world of difference. Two O rings, and your done!
I was very disappointed with the Recon 360, as it is good looking unit.

Thanks for posting up on this subject. I have a question on a picatinny rail only type bipod- my Marauder comes with a sling stud attachment only. I would like to add a small pic rail underneath to accept these cool Bipods presented, but am unsure of which to buy, as there are so many offerings. Most of them are made for keymod or the mlok type of attachment. Can someone link me to a good and sturdy picatinny rail to mount up to my synthetic Marauder stock? I’m finding that picatinny clamping of a bipod is best, vs using a sling stud. Too much wiggle when attaching to a stud that swivels.

if you grab one of these adapters designed to mount on a swivel stud it can work without drilling extra holes in your stock.


otherwise you can still use the mlok or keymod rail sections,
they just usually have a small raised piece on the back side where they sit against the stock that has to be removed.

a dremel and a few minutes of time will grind this bump down so it can set flush against your stock.

and correct sized screws to attach it will be needed,but lowes/home depot will have those.

For those of you who have the Atlas clone, could you tell me the distance between the legs when they are folded forward? I want to see if they will clear an under barrel mounted Tac light.

Also, what is the approx. swing range?

Instead of swing range I should have said rotational range. That is, with the feet planted and not moving, how far left and right of center can you rotate your aim point without disturbing the feet?

ahhh gotcha!

if you have the tension knob set loose enough so you can pan left and right,
you could go around 360 degrees if you want to. there are no stops on the left and right movement.
