FX independence, is it worth it ?

Hey guys, I am not thinking about buying the independence, but is is very unique. Just wondering what others have to say, when I see the price I think I would rather buy another pcp (a rainstorm or sumatra ) and a shoebox, and a tank, then put the change in my pocket while the shoebox is pumping for all my pcp's. But it is stand alone that is obviously point 1, but for 1700 dose it sing and dance and print 1/2'' at 50?

Check the review gate. There are some fine write ups in there.

I am also wondering what others think about the idea of such a unique gun, and by no means am I knocking this gun, just wondering.

After talking with Brett, I think he would actually say his does "sing and dance and print 1/2'' at 50"!
The Independence is definitely a high-end gun and for the price, you can expect it to perform like an FX gun. Of course, the Royale is still the gun I dream about!

I shot Bretts as well and that thing is sweet. While it
Is heavy it makes one accurate bench rest gun and with a sling wouldn't be bad in the field either

My Indy is scary accurate at 50 yards. I have taken starlings shooting off hand at 54 yards. You can just grab a tin of pellets and go shooting, just like a springer, but you have the power of and quietness of a PCP. This gun is a winner.

I have loved my Indy since I got it. It did however have a problem where I was getting some fliers and had to return it. Turns out there where .177 cal. parts used in the air stripper in the end of the shroud and it was clipping the skirts of some pellets. AoA's warranty person, Kit, did the work of setting things to proper specs and I should get it back this Tuesday. I was told by him that it will shoot better than new now! I also have amazing Chrony results from the way I shoot it tethered to a 88 cu ft CF 4500psi tank with a regulator set at the gun's sweet spot of 150 BAR. I get 926.90 FPS, 8.02 FPS Extreme Spread, 2.23 FPS Standard Deviation and getting 30.34 FPE using 15.9 JSB's Match Diablo Jumbo Exacts! And yes,you can expect 1/2" groups at 50 yards (or less) when you do your part.
Shame it wasn't in top form when the guys tried it at the Shoot. LOL. Dez was ringing the 70 yard bells his second shot. I would buy this gun again. It is an excellent hunting set up but I really enjoy shooting it off the bottle as I can shoot hundreds of times w/o having to pump it. Being able to unhook it, grab a tin of pellets and go hunt all day w/o having to have an external air source puts this unique gun in a class by itself. I can't wait to get it back! Oh and before I forget the service from AoA was super. It was a quick and painless process with no snags. My compliments to them.
Brett
PS I forgot to mention the fact that it was thought to be one of ,if not the, most quiet gun at the SC Shoot.

I like the Indy but its not the right gun for me. I had two of them for a few months last spring, borrowed from the factory, they were cool but since I already have a SCUBA unit, I went for the Royale instead.
