I bought my trail about 8 months ago. The piston seal blew out at 2500 rounds. The pivot screw would loosen after 20 rounds and the trigger was very heavy.   So I replaced the seal with a jim maccari  seal  put in a new trigger and put brass washers on the pivot part and used a drop of jb weld to hold the screw.  I also polished the barrel with jb non embedding bore paste.   Now I have about 2000 more rounds through it and I can't be happier. It holds groups really well.  I almost gave up and sold the gun. But decided I needed to learn how to fix everything my self.   Here is a group at a measured 24 yards

Cody, no need for the JB weld. There is a set screw in the front of the left fork that is for retaining the pivot screw. I replaced mine with a 6-32 X 3/8 cap screw. This lets you put more torque on it than OEM. The stock has to be relieved a little.

Thanks for the info. I will def do that mod. I searched for solutions and most people just told me that's a common problem with them and when I called crosman they told me that instead of cleaning the gun they tell people to tighten the screw.  Not a good answer to me.  The gun has great potential but every time the screw would loosen it would shoot to the left and low. Then I'd retighten it but would never get it exactly the same so was having to adjust the scope every time I'd go out.  It was very frustrating

Check the size before you get one. It may be 8-32. It has been a while since I did mine. But 3/8" is the length. The head goes almost flush when tight.

It is a good gun. It just needs some love then it is a great gun. I also used air venturi metal to metal moly paste. The in weld worked great holding that pivot screw also.   I know gamo uses some type of strong locktite or epoxy so that's where I got that idea.

That's a great group at 24 yards.  Especially with a magnum breakbarrel.  I think it's great you figured that gun out.  I always felt like they had potential, but I am just not a gas ram fan.  I like a little bit of boing in my breakbarrels.

JB Weld.  That is a hardcore fix.  Hope you don't have trouble getting it out, later down the road.  Then again, you might never have to!

My thought was I already did the brass pivot mod and used Molly so I can't think of any reason I'd have to take the barrel off.    I almost gave up on this gun.  Took it to the pawn shop but they only offered me 50 dollars.   So I decided I'd learn. After much frustration I am happy now. It shoots great and is very smooth

Lol. Yes it was. I bought four different ones and had to do so filing for a proper fit. I also taped some sand paper to the table and used hot glue and attached the washer to a wooden dowel to sand it perfectly flat and get it just right
