Hi folks,

As of 4/22/2019 there are now 298 responses from compressor owners. Thanks to EVERYONE who has shared their experiences!

These links below to the reports should automatically update as more compressor reports come in. I suggest everyone check out the first link below to the compressor list and hours. I felt this report would be helpful to show the sampling for any type of compressor.

Please note: I don't intend to show any overall "winner" or "loser" so there is not any ranking. You will see the compressor list and hours is alphabetical.

Sorry guys, I screwed myself using a question type for the first and most important question where I ask which make and model you're using. I just found out that I cannot append the choices.

(GRRRR!!!!)

Quick update... I was able to save and export the previously submitted results and have re-entered them myself into the revised survey :-)

I really don't plan to post a "winner", but I just wanted to collect real-world feedback on what everyone's experiences were with what they have. Everyone has different needs plus trying to make a direct comparison between an Omega and Yong Heng really didn't seem right anyway

An interesting point that was not on the survey would be what type and weight of crankcase lubricant was used by each individual.

This is an interesting topic that is changing as we speak.

The advent of PCPs has created a market aimed at the convenience of having your own supply of HPA. I understand that there are guns that are "Hand pump friendly", I, on the other hand, am not. The range of home compressors is growing, Hatsan is now in the market with a portable 12/110V system within the last couple of weeks. They follow Crosman/Benjamin and Air Venturi in offering compact compressors.

For the record, I use a Komptec air cooled 5000psi compressor hooked to a 45L storage bottle, an awesome but hugely expensive proposition. High flow rate means I can top off big SCBAs in seconds off the tank...minutes off the compressor directly. This performance is not available in standard home systems. Upper level full compressors can top off a big tank in a half hour or so...less expensive can take far longer.

The compact compressors are excellent for filling guns, that is truly their forte. The mobile design will fill a rifle in just a few moments and takes up much less space.

Shipping the full size compressors can be a challenge. They are heavy, bulky and semi-fragile. Shipping can be expensive and damage in shipping is ALWAYS a possibility.

My advice to all is check the flow rate, the higher the better and match the tool to the job you need it to do.
