This was my first Liberty. The holes were drilled to deep for the barrel set screws. Again, ATI made it right, hassle free. After finding this, thats when I bought the bore scope. Would have save me a BUNCH of time trying to sort out the rifles inaccuracy.

I ordered the wifi version of the borescope, for iPhone and ipad.  Looks like it would be a little easier to use, not being attached to the device.  Wish they went down to 177, but didn't find anything reasonable.

It is $25 more, but not attached to a USB, and works with iPhone.

The PC / Mac and Android version is cheaper but tied to a cable.

I'm most curious about the ability to clearly see the image details on a smart phone's small screen.

With my eyes, probably have to send the iPhone pictures to the PC or iPad to see them.       That is why I have an iPad.      I can't fly drones on the iPhone for the same reason. 

I will certainly post some pictures and opinion of it, but will start its own thread on it.

I know it is not totally related to the Nova Liberty but I did mention backstops for this gun and saw where some recommended rubber mulch.

They have rubber type paving mats at Lowes that are about a inch or so thick, pretty heavy, they are only around 5.99.  I got two, I am going to put them together and see what they stop with the Liberty.  Another idea is those metal pan griddles for cooking on top of burners, it is pretty thick aluminum, I doubt a pellet will penetrate and you can get a decent sized one at Wal Mart or Old Time Pottery barn for around 11.99.  The one I saw has handles so it can be hung from some screws screwed into a piece of wood

I will try constructing a backstop with the rubber paver mats attached in front of the metal griddle and then having a large spare piece of wood in back to attach everything too.

I keep eating into the wood back stops I am making from all the spare wood I am finding on the curb, they aren't lasting too long especially areas that take clusters of hits.

I think Duy is confusing the liberty with the Aspen. The Aspen is only 3600 psi

I can fill to 4500psi with a 500cc bottle vs 200cc airtube. and with the stock tune (low reg pressure, low fpe) i should get more than 80 shots. i bet Liberty guns running regulator pressures at 3000psi will get less than 15 shots at lower than 60fpe. have you tried it?

I did 50 shots on the chrony and 30 shots are in the 60fpe at 3000psi. there is more room still

I am not advocating people to run their Liberties at 3600psi. But i am running my Liberty at 3600psi...Freedom/Aspen uses the same breech/receiver. so i am not confused, i know the freedom/aspen can reach 3600psi... Robert.

So my build date is 03-2018. And my regulator adjustment looks a little different.
Anyone have a similar setup and managed to adjust successfully?
Also the hammer spring has a lot of tension, and takes a fair amount of pushing to put back after the pin is removed.

The slotted adjuster would require removing the air cyl to adjust. 

What is the length of the spring and the wire size? 

I just noticed your location.  I assume you have a Red Target version vs an ATI Liberty?

Locally it is sold as the Nova Vista. So I assume a factory standard unit.

The ones here have had no preload on the hammer spring from the factory.  I highly suspect a different spring if you have to hold it in to insert the pin.  The next time you have it out, try to get some measurements.

definitely more tension, had to hold it in to prvent it springing out when I opened.
Will definitely check.

I am happy to report that my Bottled Liberty is making 74fpe shooting 42.9grains at 879fps. And 67fpe shooting 28.6 grains at 1030fps...this is at 209 bars.

With all of the hype surrounding the Avenger and the new releases from Crosman/Benjamin, I almost feel like I'm traveling back in time bumping this thread.   

Well, I recently acquired a Liberty in .177 from ATI.  It is my first PCP in this particular caliber. It is also the second Liberty in a row that leaked right out of the box.

Before even mounting a scope, I went outside to fire it over the chronograph, which somehow had slipped into the on position when I put it away after my last shooting session.  I guess Caldwell includes that spare battery slot for a reason.  Anyway, I was sure the gun was underpowered based on the report.  Sounded a whole lot different from other 177s (break barrels) I have shot.  Sounded weak in comparison. 


While I was initially disappointed, that soon changed once I got a chance to sit down and shoot it at length.  This thing is a laser. It shoots Crosman 7.9 HP just as accurately as my Urban shoots JSBs.   Mind you, most of my shooting is done in the 25-30 yard range in the backyard, so at longer ranges, that's probably a different story.

I was able to stack 9 pellets in a hole slightly bigger than a quarter inch earlier today at 25 yards.    I got well over 80 good shots at a 965 FPS average shooting those Crosman HP 7.9 gr from a 3500 PSI fill. 

I guess the hollow shroud does a lot for taming the bark of this smaller caliber  because I was sure this thing was shooting way below manufacturer's claim (though I know the game and that it's usually bs to begin with). 

So despite the leak and one faulty magazine, I have to say...I'm pretty happy.  This gun is a keeper. Extremely accurate with a beautiful wooden stock to boot.

I'm gonna get some balloons later and do a leak test on the barrel and fill port.  When I place the balloon over the barrel, is it necessary to remove the shroud?

 I already have one of Duy's poppets on stand by and plan on ordering a o-ring kit soon from Captain O-Ring.  Hopefully the source of the leak is o-ring or poppet related, because if it's not I'm gonna have to send it to someone with a little bit more expertise.   ATI won't be getting this one back, that's for sure.

Yes, remove the shroud to get the ballon and rubber band around the barrel.  Close the bolt.  If the ballon even stands up, you have a leak.

No leaks on the barrel or fill port.  Tore the gun completely apart and didn't see any bad o-rings or debris.  The bleed screw seems to be a possible culprit.

FWIW Antwuan Maxx, the only thing wrong with a no warranty wood Liberty I bought awhile back was a leak around the bleed screw.
Heavy silicone grease cured it.
It now holds air without issue
IIRC correctly from reading the posts, others have found crud at the bottom of the hole or a poorly finished tip on the bleed screw to be the cause.

Yeah, I know what you mean.   When I initially received the gun, I recall making sure that screw was tightened before I even filled it up for the first time.  So when I noticed the gun leaking,  I automatically assumed popppet given the gun's history.

Not sure if you can tell from the picture I posted, but the tip of my bleed screw is pretty jacked up.   Its not flat whatsoever, more rounded than anything.  I'll have it grinded down a bit later today and see how it plays out.
