Kerry, i have been killing birds at 75 yards with Freedom bottle conversion. i know i mentioned it before too, accuracy is good with crosman HP 14.3gn

I still need to work on the "parts" .22 Freedom I have, but the .177s actually do all I need out to 55 yards, which is the maximum distance I have available to shoot/pest.

Although I am intrigued by your bottle conversion, I don't plan on doing that to a Freedom.  Seems that conversion would be better suited to the Liberty.

Kerry, I have two part guns freedom. one has a sticking pump, not working. one is perfectly working. I am guessing the pump will go out sooner or later and no parts to replace but to fabricate if it's not orings, very time consuming to take down btw.

not to mention, after 10 shots and 40+pumps. I got bored, i can't imaging pumping during a hunt. I can't imaging lugging an 11+lbs gun around, I will not lug around for survival along with other gears...sorry, there is not a scenario that i can imagine with it. I can't imaging shooting underpowered pump guns. I have a 392 Benji for that.

I have gotten to 55fpe with my freedom bottle. and it's light and accurate. this will server me just right. I have no need for a heavy pump pcp.'

The liberty will get a bottle treatment soon. I have gotten it to 68 FPE for 2 equal shots with my new stainless valve and Billy's plenum. But it's best around 60fpe.

I have no solid shotcount info right now. I was just testing for power last night when i got some NSA .217 28.5 grains.

Last time i tested at 64fpe was i getting max 13-15 shots I think. so I am guessing give or take max 15 shots at 60fpe. Not going to hype it up until I tune it for shotcounts.

This was my first Liberty. The holes were drilled to deep for the barrel set screws. Again, ATI made it right, hassle free. After finding this, thats when I bought the bore scope. Would have save me a BUNCH of time trying to sort out the rifles inaccuracy.

i just made 74fpe shooting 42.9 grains with my modded liberty.  and leaking probe oring at that.

i have a mould thats .218 and 47 grains...oh my. how fun it is to touch something with those

going to tune to 60fpe now.

My experience (with .177) is similar to avator's (Bill) in that on low power, ~10 shots and ~17 pumps with relatively consistent fps.   The sweet spot is about 4 or 5 shots for consistency in fps.

As far as the Freedom being "low powered"?   It is not!   I choose to shoot most of the time using the low power setting (~720fps@~12fpe/10.5 CPUM).

However, with the turn of a knob on the high power setting, I can have ~930fps@~20fpe with the same pellet.   Not under powered at all if you ask me.

Yes, it does take more pumps per shot on high power than low power, but the sweet spot still gets me 5 consistent shots if I don't have the pressure too high to start with.   Between, ~2900 and ~2200psi is the sweet spot on my Freedom for both low and high power.

Since I have never gotten the .22 model working to my satisfaction, I can't compare it to the .177's performance.

However, I do agree with you that they are not supported by parts or really anything after the warranty runs out.   Even during warranty, you will most likely get a new, different gun.   Not get your original gun repaired.   Is that not the same for the Liberty?

Your bottle conversions are great!   I just simply don't need that kind of power and I am almost certain I don't have the tools needed to make the conversions you and others are able to achieve... and probably don't have the $$$ either.  (grin)

i dont have .177 so i dont know how it operates. but in .22 high power, it takes 3-4 pumps after each shot to stay consistent. so the 40 something pumps in between to get 10 shot string down the line, i am not a fan of that. i dont find joy in pumping alot to get less than dozen shots, some people may enjoy it. Even the Benji i have, i only shoot it 5-10 times and put it up.

and yes you can kill stuff with 12 or 20fpe. but that limits your range greatly with wind conditions. i dont play with that stuff. The minimum i will settle for is 45fpe and .22 cal up, ideally 60fpe. so 12 and 20 fpe is not considered powerful to me, it may be to you but you will have to dial or hold over at 75 yards or 100yards. your usual range may be closer? anything within 50yards becomes boring real quick to me.

also, try lugging that Freedom around for 30 minutes as if you are walking into your hunt spot with treestand, blind, backpack, sidearm. i have tried...never again.

I dont regret converting to bottle one bit. i have gotten to 55fpe on my freedom. the pump freedom will never reach that level.

I am committed to eradicating pests from my property.   Tree rats and Chipmunks don't need 50 fpe and where I am, the chance of passthrough/ricochet is too great to risk.

There are still things I believe are higher priority for me than air guns... any flavor!  (sacrilege!!!)  grin...

These numbers are plenty for small game with pellets, the barrel port would be the only thing I'd open up on this gun if I do, when I have it apart again I'm going to debur the hammer spring and valve spring both.  This gun was a bargain for my total cost so far is about $160.



I can get about 4 10 shot clips on the reg from a 4K fill.

Yes, they are a booger to take down completely and also a booger to understand.   I am still hoping for someone to provide aftermarket support for them as I simply don't see it ever happening with ATI and probably not from Seneca either... after warranty anyway.  (sigh)

Having said that, parts availability (lack of) is what will kill this airgun.

Of course, 30 years from now, if it fails, it will be a collectors item if it is in original condition!  (chuckle)

Don't laugh too hard at that... look at some of the stuff that sells as "collectible" at very high prices these days.   Much of it has more to do with rarity than quality and some of it was produced in massive quantities.   You just don't find many in original condition...  (grin)

I ordered the wifi version of the borescope, for iPhone and ipad.  Looks like it would be a little easier to use, not being attached to the device.  Wish they went down to 177, but didn't find anything reasonable.

My bore scope paid for itself the first day. I looked at all my rifles and found one of my target barrels quietly rusting away in the safe.

This was the replacement Liberty I recieved. The 3rd one looked pretty decent, thankfully.

It is $25 more, but not attached to a USB, and works with iPhone.

The PC / Mac and Android version is cheaper but tied to a cable.
