Well, I just did a 9 shot group at aprrox 75 yards with the 9th shot dropping off the reg. It ended up being 1.5 inches with a 5 mph wind and gusts to 8 from variable directions.

I'm surprised that the cudas worked at that velocity. I really thought I would have to slow them down a little.

Just cronoed some griffin dished slugs. Of course I changed the HS adj to give the max fps.

Looking for a source for replacement barrel o-rings. This is what I found when I decided to tear into our no warrant/parts Liberty. Hopefully, this the source of the slow leak and didn't occur when I removed the barrel from the receiver. Still haven't made it to the poppet it just yet.

The barrel orings will not be the cause of your rifle leaking. Air tube oring, reg oring, or poppet valve will be your most likely suspects

Unfortunately, it is not the source of your slow leak.

Those o-rings only seal during the shot cycle. They are 1.5mm CS X 8mm ID : 11mm OD 90D Buna-N

I was in on this thread last year. Wow! 110 pages of some very solid modification info. I got one of the early .22 last year before the Black Friday sale and mine has shot very nicely out of the box. I really don’t want to do anything other than maintain it. Must have gotten one of the good ones as the velocities were right as advertised and it’s very accurate.

My hats off to all of you guys for your hard work and diligence in taking this bargain of the century rifle to new heights. I just don’t have the time to do much with mine because of other hobbies.

This looks to be the official Nova Liberty Thread.

So after a few years what are experiences, agreements on a few things like.

What are the problem spots, any way to pre protect from wear, damage?

What is the best way to get more power from the gun, any issues/damage popping up from drilling out barrel, upping reg, shimming hammer spring? I would rather just disassemble the rifle once or twice to up the power instead of doing it over and over again, experimenting and possibly damaging things. I think I will just wait until after warranty.

What about cleaning the barrel, best method, best product, any issues down the line.

Any mods definitely recommended for improved reliability/durability/performance, any that are having issues. Tips for working on the gun.

Any pellets or slugs that really stand out for the majority of these guns, is there a magic velocity we should shoot for with certain pellets/slugs.

Any Rings/Scope combo's that do really well, best bang for your buck.

What backstops are people using to try to stop pellets from penetrating, lots of scrap wood being throw out for the past few weeks but I have been finding it is still putting pellets though most wood/fiber board, even close to a inch thick. I did screw 3 pieces of wood together for a backstop that stopped pellets from going through, was thinking of some kind of cheap metal plate that could be bought at Lowes or Home Depot to stop pellets.

I forgot to add what psi are people keeping these guns stored at. Manual says 580-1160psi, do people tend to leave it higher like 2000-2500psi, anyone know if it is more harmful to store them at higher psi then what the manual says. For hand pumpers it would be nicer to just store them at higher psi so not as much pumping when you want to shoot.

The poppet is the problem child of the liberty. The material that is incapsulated in a metal can is very soft. What happens is the sealing material wears down to where the metal can is sitting on the brass exhaust valve body. I've taken the poppet out and cut the can back about a .010 of an inch which aloud the poppet to seal again. Not sure how many shots you get with that repair as I replaced it with a poppet that Duy made for me out of delron.

Simplest mods are s\turn up the regulator and shim the hammer spring. The sky's the limit from there, new mods daily , ok monthly LOL

The simple mods are covered by AVS in his video. If you do any of them your warranty will be voided so think real hard about that.

Robert that wasn't an issue with many of the people that bought the non warranty guns. ATI simply won't sell parts for these from what I understand.

The poppet is the biggest problem with the liberty. I've never had any other problems with anything else on the rifle that I didn't cause myself. LoL Yes the regulator likes to creep but with a <300 $ gun you can't expect perfection.

Robert I bought 2 poppets from duy made from PEEK, excellent is all I can say !!! I've had a slow leak in mine til I bought the poppets and problem is solved.

You are correct, Wayne
Direct from ATI comes the word that they do not stock an inventory of parts; nor can they get any from Nova Vista.
There are, as you know however, O Ring kits available via Captain O Ring
