I made some time this morning to get to know my $100 Freedom parts gun a little better. It would pump up but not hold pressure over night so I lubed the heck out of it with silicon oil and now it holds pressure forever, or at least 2 weeks since I last pumped it up. I also had a chance to use my Clamp On Velocity Meter. It's nice to finally know how fast the pellets are coming out. I adjusted the hammer screw all the way in then backed it out one full turn. I was shooting 14.3 gr CPHP . First shot came out at 1214 fps and definitely was not back yard friendly so I backed it out until the velocity was around 900 fps. Still not back yard friendly, lol.I want to give a big Thank You to Stephen! I received his AVS Sampler pack of slugs and got to try them at 25 yds this morning, I know they are designed for longer distances but that's as far as I can shoot in my shop. I shot three 26.1 gr slugs at 900 fps and stopped there, it was one ragged hole. I want to save the rest to try them at longer distances. If my math is correct that's almost 47 FPE. The AVS slugs are amazing!
I went thru the same thing and just ended up leaving the round plug out so I could get to the front bolt. The thing that gets me is it's basically the same as the freedoms rear stock and where the plug and rectangular piece is is where the pump handle tucks up in the stock. Kind of not worthy that they didn't put the hole in the back so if you made a HS adj you could accesses it. sigh! Drill here I come. Gotta have that HS adj.
If you drill out the round piece you still have to remove the plate that the screw under the round piece holds. It's NOT a very good design as the plate piece and the bolt that holds the stock on should've been the same one.
Have you watched Stephens vid on disassembling the Liberty? I't on his AVS youtube channel.
Ok, have any of you found a way to remove the back screws on your trigger without removing the trigger mechanism. My pull is manageable but I would love to make it crisper ?Any ideas ?wll

Maybe try a small easyout bit to get it out.
