For anyone that hasn't tried Stephens slugs in the .22 Freedom's they're a heck of a good slug in these guns, accurate and they work fantastic in the magazine. That was one thing that I was unsure of when I first went out shooting them was whether or not the slugs would stay in the mags good, Stephen did post that he had good luck with them in the mags and my experience is the same.
The Liberty can be tuned more than the freedom. The freedom has a hammer spring adj, the liberty has to have the hammer spring adj using shims but, it has an adj reg which can be adj without disassembling the rifle. You just need to vent all of the pressure to adj it. Some will say that you can turn the reg pressure up with it pressurized but I just vent all of the pressure before I make a reg change. Remember, it doesn't have a pmp which I'm sure you already know and hand pumping while can be done is a lot of work as the reservoir is about 4 times larger than the freedom.

I will open the barrel port to .173+ also, if I don’t get at least 25 - 30 shots I will fill to a higher pressure till I get it.This configuration simply change to reg (1/4 turn) and .100 washers behind hammer spring jumped the stock 26ftlbs to the sweet JSB 18.1 900 fps 30ftlbsI wonder how many pumps it takes to go from about 2500 psi to 3600 psi on a Chinese pump ?wll

I would concentrate on hammer spring & upping the reg. Not to be ignored simply swapping the set screw and cap screw position behind the trigger blade went from 3.5lb to 2.25lb pull brilliant hunting carry vs Benchrest configuration.
I spent the weekend sending 100 of Stephans 26.1 gr slugs down range with my .22 Liberty at 650-660 fps, topped off the gun once. I kind of like the slower speed I can watch the slug gracefully fly to its mark. I was thinking of upping the power, but the slugs lose very little down range energy I may just keep it where it is at, a low speed back yard slug gun, with the option to send pellets as fast as they can stay stable.

My next range day testing I will try various velocities @ 100 yards to see if they can do better. Thanks
Yes, I will find time to test all 4 weights. Since I have an easy to adjust hammer spring adjuster it should not be too bad to do. I will also test shooting the slugs into water jugs to see how they expand. Maybe even try some penetration tests. I'll post a video as soon as the testing is complete.Robert, I'm looking forward to see your results. Stay cool. I hate shooting when the weather is above 90. It takes me a little to get used to the hot weather. I prefer 30 degrees Fahrenheit over 90.
