sweet! i thought the brass wheel functions only as the valve spring tention adjuster. as in left will loosen and right will tighten.
inside the valve body, there are small belleville washers, you didnt touch those correct? because i thought the only way to adjust the reg is via those washers. i may be confused to how this regulator works.

Funny you say that...I did open up the Regulator to see what was inside. Yes, there are belleville washers stacked If I remember correctly there are 3 or 4 pairs stacked as such (()) (()) (()) (())
I cleaned and lightly silicon-ed each washer not sure if that has anything to do with the reg behaving better.

the wheel on the reg block is only to adjust the distance from the white plastic delrin to the reg seat. The more you turn the brass wheel CCW the more space between the delrin and the reg seat therefore more pressure will build in the Plenum before the belliville springs close the regulator seat against the delrin seat. Yes, You can also change the order of the bellville washer to create more pressure. The more you stack the washer the stronger the belleville washers get. For instance you can stack them like this for more pressure (((()))) (((()))) same 16 washers but heavier spring load. But I do not recommend changing the washer configuration unless you are willing to tinker for days toget it right.

This is exactly what I used on mine.  I use it on my trigger screws too.

Speaking of the trigger screws, how did those ball tipped set screws you ordered from McMaster Carr work out?
I was messing with my trigger blade yesterday and using one of the stock screws just to experiment with I was able to configure a 2-stage setup.
It was a bit crunchy and the second stage was fairly stiff but it worked, so now I'm tempted to visit Home Depot to pickup a couple cap head screws to use as adjusters.
But, if those set screws you got from McMaster worked well I might order a couple of them instead.

That is where I also thought you were at.  After the port mods I think you said you were around 38FPE and 4 shims which is not far from max.  Going to the slightly heavier monsters, would tend gain a couple FPE.   Which you did in the adjuster video, around 43FPE.

Now, dropping the reg down 500psi, and getting more power.  You must have been approaching valve lock at the higher pressure.   I assumed you were up that high to begin with, because you weren't making the power you wanted at lower psi's. 

Also, the hammer energy is only around 20lb at full throw.  Adding a preload, given the short distance before coil bind, would only add about 4lb of force.

Making more sense to me now.  Thank's for clarifing. 



PS: My experience with vibratite, it works well on loose fittted threads.  Tight threads just seem to peel it off.  ie it worked well on hammer preload, but not on the throw adj for mrods.  Should work on your adjuster.

The stack pattern can be seen on page 10 of the parts/assembly instructions download. I printed it off, but my eyesight isn't what it use to be, so a good magnifying glass helped, lol!

Are those Bellevilles all the same thickness or different thicknesses?  If the same, that arrangement is pretty bad.  Several are just getting squashed flat or worse, being inverted and damaged.

Mike, sorry I did not pay attention to how many Bellevilles but they where not stacked that way or at least I did not put them back that way. Next time I take the gun apart, I'm sure it will be soon, I will pull the reg and take detail note of the washer stack.

The washers are shaped exactly like tiny contact lenses and are all the same thickness. They are ever so slightly concave/convex, depending on how you look at them, of course. And the assembly diagram show the arrangement as one stack of three at either end, with three stacks of six in the middle.

I tried a few different arrangements, but the original was the one that worked the best. I'm running a gauge on my plenum, btw.

I might pull down the "experimental" rifle tonight and reconfigure the washers to match the Excel file, and see if I get any difference in regulator reaction.

Hey Ken,
     I have no instrumentation to measure the improvement the ball tipped screws provided and they will not magically cure a trigger as we all know. 

     What I can tell you is that they fit perfectly and allow full range of adjustment especially versus a cap screw.
     As far as I'm concerned any time you have a screw with a polished, chrome plated, hardened ball end let alone a rolling ball tip it seems almost impossible that it would not offer an improvement over a regular screw even ones with rounded tips.
     So my answer is they worked great.  I got some in 4 mm for some of my other guns including my TO6 triggered D34.

I just took apart the regulator and yes, It is configured just like the manual. )))((()))((()))((()))(((

This might be helpful to those of you that had a hard time realigning the two blocks. I just realized what the slots on the stainless steel part of the regulator is for.  First you screw the regulator into the small block with the brass wheel nice and tight (do not over tighten) then screw the regulator attached to the small block into the receiver. It's OK if the small block does not butt directly up against the receiver. I have about 1 mm gap between the small block and the receiver. as long as the white washer on the reg sinks below the receiver block it is sealed. also there is a breathe hole that goes to atmosphere which probably breathes better if there is a gap.

Just shot a JSB Monster 25.39 grain 949 FPS that's 50.79FPE (sorry I'm crazy about power)
And the Eunjig 28.5 873fps that's only 48.24 FPE
and the Pile driver 30 grain 794 fps that only 42 FPE (these were so tight I almost could not close the breech)
and CPHP 14.3 grain 1106 FPS I could not go supersonic (I just tried adjust the hammer spring at least 20 times)

    Ken how did you get the two stages in yours?

I put the original cap screw that was behind the trigger blade into the most rear hole and ran it all the way down. I adjusted the very front screw so the trigger was a single stage setup.
Then I put one of the stock screws into the hole directly behind the trigger blade and ran it down just short of the most rearward screw.
This sets up a geometry that forces the rear most screw to start releasing the sear before the other screw contacts it. You can feel when the forward screw contacts the sear, the force required to continue pulling the trigger rises substantially.
The setup was a bit gritty but it was obvious when the forward screw contacted the sear and it felt like releasing the pressure on the trigger allowed the sear to reset, but I can’t verify that.

I hope that explaintion made sense.

 On the other hand they do fit perfect and shoot true and hit hard out of my XISCO Sentry.
I'm not sure if they can be swagged down to my measurement of .2145, darn near a .20 cal.  not that would be a bad thing. Other thought maybe I have a choked barrel, and it is on backwards

well guys. Stephen has reached my goal sooner than I. If only I didn't blow the power wheel yesterday I could have hit more than 50fpe I am sure. I am going to aim for 60fpe now. 
 There is nothing satisfying then hitting the Sonic crack men. My condor 22 hits Cphp at 1200fps with 18 inch barrel. It's truely satisfying.

Hey guys. I'm enjoying the wealth of content surrounding this gun, thanks for sharing with us! Unfortunately though, it seems the regulator in my rifle is malfunctioning or does not work at all.

The issue I'm having is that my POI is different EVERYTIME I fill the rifle to about 3600 psi. On top of that, my gun seems to fall off the regulator just after 30 shots (as I can see pellet drop). I don't have a chronograph to see the consistency/inconsistencies but I am getting around 70 shots on high. I've even bought a new scope to help isolate the issue but to no avail.

Right now I'm using Crossman Premiere in 22 but am ordering some JSB 18.3 soon. Any advice would be much appreciated as I am super bummed that I'm not getting the performance that every seems to rave about. 😩😩😩
