Finally finished the Thumb hole stock. What do you think?
made an attempt to machine another valve with bigger throat and exhaust. however, my grooving tool broke...i was too impatient... all the profiles are done, and part drops in. the exhause and groove will be easy. throat is now .253 compare to stock .217. exhaust will be .250 and barrel port will be oblong .185. i plan to run .25 cal later oni gotta say. i like the valve design on this Liberty. easy to reproduce and mod
Fuzzy, Oem throat diameter is .217 and exhaust cross section opening is even smaller. i had to open it up quite a bit. i would guess its less than .160 since the machining didnt go deeper than 1/2 of the valve. i should be able to get the valve done monday when the grooving tool gets here. it may or may not increase fpe due to the small plenum...going to tackle that job next.
QuoteFinally finished the Thumb hole stock. What do you think? Now when you finished tuning your Liberty and combine this with that stock you have a air rifle that is truly one of a kind and priceless.
Fuzzy, what was the fortitudes regulator set at? my best guess is due to the pressure drop from filling the now larger ports. i think i have the same problem with my gauntlet 22. too much porting, low pressure 1300psi. ports with stock setting i got 100fps lower than oem. but the upside is i can go as high as 38fpe at 1300psi with max HST. just my guess though...
@Stephen - I watched your YouTube video on adding a crown to the barrel. Are you seeing any difference now that you've done it?@Anyone - I think I read that the power control dial only affects the output power and has no effect on how many shots you get per fill. Is that right?

Is that right?Hey Stretch, I have not had a chance to test the barrel yet. I told my wife we really should move to North Carolina cause everyone is moving there. Truth...I want some warmer weather so I can shoot more often. I'll let you know how the barrel performs as soon as possible.
