Stephen, what an awesome job on the stock, and its not even finished or stained. Do you have some wood working shop tools or was that cut down with hand tools?  How did you cut the round 1/2  circle for the pressure tube to sit in? I want to modify my original wood stock to lighten it up and take some of the bulk from the forearm. (Too thick for my hands) but I only have hand tools, and a cheap belt sander. Thinking I need some wood files or rasps.

Wife says "No guts no glory".  She's a pretty good sport about most things.

I cut the groove for the air tube using a 1 3/8 inch core box router bit. I did spend about $700 in tools to make this stock. I bought a Bosch 2. 1/4 HP router, grizzly pro rolling sander, a jig saw, Rigid Oscillating spindle/belt sander, rasps, files and chisles. Most of the work is done by hand. I do a have some blisters on my hands.but it's worth it.

I just finished the last fine tuning and shaping the grip today. It looks so "dang" good.

Stephen, did you find some  templates for stock measurements or did you just start with the length of pull and guess at the rest?
 
 I'm thinking about something like that with my BSA. I'll probably slide the action back to roughly where your cheek riser starts though and design a trigger linkage.

I made a template on card board using the front of the Nova synthetic stock ( from just behind the trigger to the front of the stock on the Nova) and the back of the Kral puncher Jumbo thumb hole stock. I basically just put the stocks on the paper and traced it with a pencil. I knew that the Kral Jumbo has a lenth of pull of 13.5". I just increased the length of pull by 1 inch to 14.5".

I bought it from a local lumber yard near me in Oceanside NY. I went crazy looking for a piece of walnut and this lumber yard had this one old peice laying around.
