FWB Sport 124 disassembly and reblue

Picked up a non working FWB 124 with some rust. Arrived the other day and  when you cock it the safety engages but it doesnt latch onto the piston and wont fully cock. I tried taking it apart in my compressor but after taking the presssure off the stock lug and unscrewing it, the trigger unit and endcap dont come out all the way out. I re engaged it a few times to work it loose and used a hair dryer to heat it up but nothing. Any suggestions?


The other issue is the rust. Tried to get some pics but it was hard to get good ones. The barrel has lost alot of the bluing and even after soaking  it in CPL and using 0000 steel lightly it's still rusty colored throughout. (Bore is clean)  The receiver is feckled spots towards the front but still has most of its bluing. Anyone have any recommendations for a reblue? Will probably just do the barrel.

I have had my 124 since the 1970"s bought new from Beeman's. and super tuned by them. (they no longer work on them)  I had a piston put in by Dennis Baker in 2016.  Gun works great with the same one hole accuracy at 10 meters.  I have seen his ad on this sight.

I've had a 124 and Vulcan with sticky end plugs, but maybe not as bad as yours. I just put on leather gloves and wiggled, pulled, and pried gently till they came loose. Maybe a penetrating oil would help.

If a metal trigger blade ... MORE HEAT >>> TORCH HEAT !
If it is rusted you will need the tube to grow greater than the trigger block within and the only way to do that is heat !
Soaking in a penetrating oil / derust product prior to heating.  Your likely needing  300*f or more.
