Got my used texan sighted in for deer season and thought I would share the results shooting my home cast ammo. I'm using an old single cavity lee 340-f mold that I picked up for $15 shipped off ebay. The bullets drop at .458 and I am shooting them as cast. I do not know the exact weight of the bullets, but I am fairly sure they are over 340 gr since they are cast in reclaimed plumbing lead and not an alloy. My scale broke before I started casting these so I will need to replace it so I can weight them. The one shot string I was able to run over the chrono was 780, 732, 733. It could probably use some tuning. I won't be shooting past 50 yards though so it is fine as is for now.
The photo is the last 50 yard group of the day. It was shot prone off a cheapo bipod that constantly pushes the rifle to the left with any amount of preload (tossed it in my junk pile when I got home). Scope is a hawke vantage 4x32 ao mildot.

Thanks guys, I am happy with how well it went for my first time shooting it. It is the heaviest bullet I have cast so far. Only been at it a few years though.
