The rough sanding is done.
I'll follow up tomorrow with progressively finer grit.

It appears to have a lot more character than the other.
I'll see when it's oiled.

There’s a FWB 150 in very nice condition at the gun show.    Is 300.00 a good deal?

 Found a small cheap strainer at a yard sale today, so I am trying my hand at "washing pellets"
 The Daisy Quick Silver Wad Cutters I found at a sale last week are almost white from oxidation.
 Washing them and then lubing them can't hurt. They are drying now, and  I already see some improvement.
 They was a lot of lead dust.

More work in the shed today.  The window air conditioner is toast.  The WiFi is spotty.  My portable air compressor is apparently deceased.  The stereo died.  I got hot and quit.

I hinted to the memsahib that I could use a new compressor and a window AC.  We shall see what transpires.

Soon the sun will be over the yardarm and intend to park my butt in a lawn chair where I can tend the smoker with a large libation in my hand.

Had a lot of fun at the gun show.   Unfortunately it was a beautiful sunny day which cut into attendance.   I did well on gun related accessories and ammo but only managed to sell one actual gun.    I brought several AGs which only drew attention from old guys like me but no buyers.    AGs at a mostly PB show is a tough sell.   I did see an assortment of Dianas, a couple Sheridans and a few Chinese springers.   One vendor had a really nice condition  Daisy/FWB 150 which I kept going back to look at.  Price started at $395 but at the end of the show he offered it at $300.  He was a FWB fan and it was great talking to him.   Also he offered to let me take it out behind the parking lot to shoot but unfortunately I had to take care of my own display.    My wonder wife thought I should buy it but at the end of the day the 150 didn't follow me home.

I'm totally not the one to make recommendations on this subject, but I think applying light brown wood stain, possibly a shade of walnut, before coating it with Tru-Oil, might really make that stock something special.

Like I said, I'm not the one to ask, but there are lots of other people here who are.

I would darken it as well but we all have our own tastes and frankly, I'm glad they're not all the same. For example.. I really do not like thick gloss shiny finishes on anything.

Worked on the liberty. It was leaking out of where the gage was on the plenum. Used a bonded washer and it sealed it right up. Fingers crossed!

Humble beginnings of a night range.  Aldi had the two tikki lanterns and fake rock lights on sale, under $40 with tax for all 4.  Everything is solar.  The rocks are shining on my Gamo reactives.  Need to put some thought into layout and expanded backstop.  Yet to try at night....

I pulled all of them down, went through gun cases and bags, moved the powderburners into hardcases, springers and pumpers into the locker, and the PCPs are being shuffled- the big bores are ready for use.  The Blue Streak and 362 are both close at hand for plinking and copperhead duty (tasks to which they are very well suited).

Also took a few shots with a Crosman 2100 I refurbished.  It will eventually need resealing, but storing it with 2 pumps has brought it back to prime use, and it is a freakin' laser- worthy of optics.

i converted an airsoft rifle to shoot 6mm steel bbs. only getting 20 rounds per second but still fun to shoot. dont know if its considered an airgun or airsoft now.

a couple days after doing maintenance on my Spritech VE3 compressor, it Failed, found it is the circuit board relay, the coil failed, tested the compressor by passing the circuit board and it works fine, Emailed Spritech to buy a new part, gonna by pass the circuit board until Spritech sends me a new one, I decided to tear apart the motor and resurface the armature and clean up the brushes too, test the motor and break-in the armature and brushes, works good for now. good thing I know how to do this stuff, so being an A/C technician was worth it....

Eyed the old wasp nest under an eave with much suspicion. Looked at it through the 880’s scope and adjusted parallax for the distance, maybe  20’ up at an angle. Put the packet of felt cleaning pellets out in preparation for later today. The contrast when looking at that nest, half the field of view in shade under the eave and half in bright daylight sky, is hard to take. Maybe tonight when the sun is setting. Although I have not seen a YJ at that site recently, they supposedly like to return to old nests.

RWS’s instructions say to use at least two pellets in line with other. OK. I assume the pellets won’t damage HardiPlank but will smash a papery nest. We shall see.

But first I need to do a non-airgun task, changing my truck’s engine oil and filter.

The scope?  Throw it out and put a $80 Hammers on it. The trigger? Heavy but a hard snap let off.
Cocking effort? Let's just say that you are a stronger man than I. 
I can work with the accuracy.

I just put the scope on and sighted it in. You're right - it "kind of" does what a scope should do. I can hit stuff using it, but it's not very good at gathering light.

I'm used to the cocking effort of this rifle. It's just like a Crosman Vantage NP, and even my Meteor Evo - they all have the same innards.

3D Printing a new Baffle for the Avenger, the last one broke to easy, to thin on the fill setting, set the fill to 100% and changed the baffle to my design, has more structure to it, we'll see how it works...
