It's sanding off fairly easy. It's not really a shellac or a lacquer finish, so I don't think it would be necessary for this one.
Of course this being the first time for me, what do I really know about it.

The stewardess moniker is funny.

Botheration!. I have got an airgun itch and I can't quite identify it . Yesterday I shot my CR600w and my 2240 on my 26 metres range. That was Ok. This morning it is on the edge of rain so I picked up my Gamo Hunter Maxim and admired it and enjoyed just handling it. I will shoot it later from the workshop door. I don't expect that to satisfy the itch. I had the same itch a few days ago and went to the gun shop and had a look. Nothing there to help. Just a lot of stuff that I don't want. BackRoads threatened to sell all his airguns. Maybe I should do that so I have something to regret _ but I won't .
And Mac is asleep on my shoes.

I just got through applying the first coat of Poly to the 853.
Nothing to do with it, but wait for 3 hrs.

Got rained out at work today so I topped off the big tank and actually shot six shots over my chrony. Oh the small things lol. I have more than a few that need dialed back in so this is good. I used to tune in the basement all my smaller cals 30 and below but the complex sold and out of respect to the new owner I stopped. I had quite a few years though being able to. I just need to make a good trap and I'll be back in biz in my garage.

Nothing constructive, I shot my .25 50 fpe Bull Boss, at a junk pair of binocs.
Then did turn up the reg on my M15 and tweaked the hammer spring to 850 fps up from 750 it came doing, still getting decent shot count

The second coat is done and it's still not making me happy.
It's probably the " warm satin" finish. I wanted a semi gloss but this is not cutting it.
Also I'm a little disappointed is the figure of this wood. There's not much there.

I think I'm going to order some True Oil and just go traditional.

Ron, do you have an Academy close by?
I have seen Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil at Walmart too.
I even refinished my skinning knife with that stuff.
