Lot of back pain today so I'm not doing much.   I did take a few shots off the deck with the Crosman MK2.    I'm trying to run it out of CO2 and it's taking an awful lot of shots to drain that tank.   Anyways I was looking at the MK2 spots of missing paint which reveals the light grey base metal.  Pretty ugly.    2 minutes with some black permanent marker really dressed it up.   It looks pretty good.   Well at least it does from across a large room in dim light if your eyes aren't too good.  Maybe it's the pain medication.

That's called "temporary re-bluing".  I've been known to do that before taking guns to the range.

It's definitely reduced my back pain.

Take three in the morning and three at night for a week to see if it helps.

This is one of the types that I've tried, but there are many brands to choose from.

Have never used it.    I am willing to try using it, if I can remember the next time I'm in a store that might have it.

I think you'll be able to find a more relaxed natural hold / weld. Might even have a better eye relief to boot.

A couple of days ago I had a horrible practice session. I was really shooting badly and couldn't buy an X or a 10, and 8s and 9s were plentiful.

I was testing pellets today to see if the new ones could be accurate and about grouping and the general things
that we need for a pellet to be considered good.

I hung up a target and I walked back to my shooting table and saw that it was crooked.
Well I fired off a few and dang, the shots weren't going where I wanted them to go even though I knew the
scope was zeroed in well. With cross hairs right on the center it would hit, mostly low and right. I made adjustments
 and I ended up chasing holes.

Long story short, finally, I hung up another target and made sure it hung straight.
Abracadabra.... it started shooting spot on again.

What was different? The "cant" of the scope. I was lining up with the target which made my scope angled to one side or another
and not level.

Now if the target is a little crooked, I line up my scope with the boards on the privacy fence and then the target.

The Xs and 10s are back. I never even thought of or considered the scope being at an angle to be a major thing if the
target was just a little bit crooked. It is.

99.9% of y'all already knew this but for me it's a major "game changer" find.

After I discovered this I saw a video on YT about this very same thing by a very attractive lady.
Yep, I was guilty of doing everything she pointed out and I was fixing it the right way.

Sorry that this is so long, but it's going to help me a lot in the future.

It started as CM#8 I had the but 2" off my shoulder and trying to cheek weld near the rear of the stock because the scope was all the way back and my blind eyes were too close (you know the guy who holds the menu at arms length at the restaurant).  Now add 6'3" Neanderthall arm length.  The extension is MUCH more comfy and natural and I'm sure in a couple tins I'll be Xing like ole Ron :-)
BTW our seniors here always hand the scope level bubble to me whenever I swap an optic,,,,I need to add that to my Cart

Repost from pp800r tuning thread

Got a 3/16" threaded rod from Lowe's and cut a 7mm shim (still inside the hammer so added weight).  Two strings first with Haddes 15.89 about 43fps ES and second with the NOE 217RF dropping at 19.3 about 30fps ES and 15fpe.  I shot a couple Apollo 18s and they fed better than the NOE cast.  Group test will be Cast 19.3, JSB 18s and Apollo 18s to see what it likes.
I have been praying over optics; BSA Edge 2x20, Hammers 2x20, Romeo 5 1x20 2moa, Hawke 1x20 and Vortex 1X20, and the Holosun green dor and circle dot...
So many choices...
One side says no batteries and no star with the 2x20 and the other says unlimited eye relief and easy holster with the 1x20 micro red(green) dot....hmmmm

I'm sure there are a million opinions on optics, but I'd like to hear from those of you who keep your Pistola a non-carbine and shoot at arms length opinions on optics.

I use a reflex sight on my Beeman P17 and Umarex Trevox, mostly for 50' plinking, and can consistantly hit the edge of a pellet tin turned to a spinner. It's fairly accurate 10m too.
I haven't tried it at a pistol distance of 5m though. It should do pretty good.

I also have this one on hand as well, but it's only 2X and for a pistol scope I need a bit more
magnification. To me the 2X is not much more magnified over 1X.

Cool red dot. No dovetail mount though. The mounting system is new to me, looking at the dot. Interesting.

I started the refinishing project on my Daisy 853.

I started sanding by hand and after 30min. I thought, " firetruck this". So I dug out
my electric sander. Not the orbital one for fear of leaving swirl marks, but the other one, the kind
that clamps on the rubber pad.
